My school runs homecoming in a very specific way: each class elects one guy and one girl to represent their class (very outdated I know).

The freshman class voted a trans guy as their representative - let's call him DH. This is huge, since this is probably the first time in school history that a trans person has been on homecoming court.

But he's getting misgendered over and over again. People are saying that since he's "actually a girl" he cheated. People are saying that "two girls won".

Now, I don't particularly like DH, but no one deserves to get misgendered. This is definitely bullying, possibly harassment, and I'll definitely have to take this up with the principal.

And here I thought people wouldn't be this bitchy about it. Sigh.
