Hi! I was wondering - what kind of a partner do you think would Yuuri be after the novels? I feel like in the main story he's still in denial of his feelings for the most part which impacts how he treats Wolfram. (Maybe it was touched upon in the side stories but I haven't read them.)

You have incorrect information. Yuuri is already a very loving partner, some quotes: - "When it comes to things that I can give you Wolf, I would give you anything" - Misepan 2 - “but there are also some who are super beautiful like Günter or Wolfram... as for the last one, this is just a little bit of my own personal bias, but it makes no difference if he’s beautiful or not.” - Do you want an exorcism? - (Y)“Thank goodness I still have you beside me.” (W)“You’re being so honest about your feelings it’s sickening.” (Y)“I don’t even have the strength to pretend anymore.” - Novel 14, chapter 7 - Those words hurt me deep inside my heart. This isn't at all meant to illustrate canon, only reflect my own general feels, brought on by the exchange in vol 15 ch 4, before Yuuri goes to become hostage.

“Don’t you come with me now.” Lord von Bielefeld narrows his eyes, saying in a calm voice, “If milord just says the word, I would gladly go to the ends of the earth for you.” He’s sounding all polite and respectful again, even though he knows very well I can’t handle him at all when he’s like this. “Stop joking around, I’m going off to be a hostage, how could I possibly let you come along.” “To be able to do even the slightest thing for Your Majesty, is my utmost pride and glory.” “T-thank you for your kind intentions, but I can’t let you come with me, Lord von Bielefeld.” I don’t know how many times I’ve come across this situation already. Once the other person treats me so sincerely, I get frustrated and impatient because I feel I need to repay in kind. In the end, I’ll either make it worse, or say a bunch of random things. “My beloved officer’s life shouldn’t be sacrificed for me, but contributed to the country.” “The two are one and the same.”

Well, Yuuri being Yuuri who's to say that something like this can't really happen in the future?

Another thing I love in Kyou Kara Maou fanfics is when it's mentioned that Wolfram's soldiers, the elite squad he trains, are all AT LEAST a little bit in love with him - Because yes they are.

He's hard working, loyal, noble, breathtakingly beautiful. He's an amazing fighter, a very powerful mazoku user... Like, he was gonna be elected king if Yuuri didn't return to their world.

His men are around him so much, have seen him wild in the heat of battle and focused during training drills, gentle when they escort him and Greta and unflinchingly loyal when standing up for his king, when he left everything behind to go back home and keep himself from being used as a force against Yuuri.

No wonder those boys all respect, admire and probably also love him. Who wouldn't?

And I especially love when, as it gets brought up in fics, Yuuri suddenly has to deal with the knowledge that 10+ men are around and thirsting over his fiance whenever he's not with him. I absolutely eat up that trope.

Imagine Yuuri strolling through the castle, seeing Wolfram at a distance and, as he's about to call to him, he sees Wolf's newest recruit run up to him to inform him of something, metaphorical tail wagging in excitement when Wolfram nods in approval. The younger soldier practically skips away, and is he blushing????

Or Yuuri goes to the training grounds with Conrad to practice his sword work, only to find out Wolfram's third in command has a perimeter around a certain area, because Wolf's fallen asleep against a tree and they don't want anyone disturbing him. He can see a few others sitting around a slumbering Wolfram, watching his relaxed face tenderly. Why... Are they just watching him sleep? That's... That's creepy!

And just picture Yuuri looking out of his office window, bored of his paperwork, just to see Wolfram helping his second in command, who he just beat up in training, walk towards the guard's infirmary. The soldier says something and Wolf's face lights up as he laughs with his entire chest. Yuuri ends up accidentally tearing up the paper in his hands, and he's not sure how to explain that to Gwendal.

I just want Yuuri staring at his roof late at night when Wolf is away on some assignment with his men, thinking to himself 'He's with them now... What are they doing? Is he sharing a tent with someone? Is the guard on duty even paying attention, or is he just watching my fiance longingly?... WHY AM I EVEN THINKING SO HARD ABOUT THIS??'

I want Wolfram to return home to a fuming Yuuri who has had to, by force of being unable to sleep for the entire week that he was away, come to terms with his feelings, suddenly demanding they get married now. Tomorrow. Okay, Gunter, if planning a wedding is sooo hard, you have a week! No more than that

But more than anything, I want Wolfram's men smirking in the background, secretly highfiving each other because their plan worked, and now their commander will be happy (and hopefully, less ruthless during training).

They just love their commander so much, seeing him smiling is always a treat.

The oldest brother's expression looks even more painful. Unsurprisingly, because there's no way Gwen would send his beloved youngest brother somewhere dangerous. But I was defeated by Lord von Bielefeld's words. The decision this bad-tempered stubborn angel made puts his life on the line, and he even said he's mentally prepared for it. He said, "From the day I swore my oath to the king." Which king?I instinctively swallow. My tongue sticks to the roof of my mouth, which has suddenly gone dry. It's me! Wolf is talking about us.

I know Yuuri is supposed to be chained to the chair here and take part in the council, but I'm not putting together a dozen of nobles who I'm never gonna use
