I saw someone saying there's not going to be a chapter next week, which is gonna be awful for my anxiety (WHERE'S MY SON?!? IS HE OKAY, IS HE EATING, IS HE SLEEPING THE RECOMMENDED 7/8 HOURS!?!), but absolutely fantastic for my fic writing productivity. Last time the manga took a break I got so inspired, I decided to write my first wbk fanfiction. And these past few days I've been trying to decide if I should try and start part 2, or if it'd be better to wait and see where the manga takes us.

But since it's gonna be a while until we next see Suo and my anxious ass won't deal with that gracefully, I'm probably going to open up those google docs sooner rather than later

I'm watching Windbreaker with the english dub for the first time, and it's my first rewatch of season 1 in a while, so i totally missed this, BUT

In chapter 3, when Ume interrupts the first Saku Sugi fight, he says, verbatim through the intercom:

"Some advie: you better enjoy your youth. High school is the last passion of being a kid. Get out there and make memories. Live a meaningful life. Take a trip to beach, or the mountains or something"

And then IT PANS TO SUO AND WE GET ONE OF HIS VERY FEW INTERNAL MONOLOGUES, AND HE THINKS:

"Interesting... I really couldn't care less"

My boy. My sweet baby boy, who's secretly a high ranked member and responsible for a massive gang in a neighboring city. Of course he'd think 'this has nothing to do with me' when someone in a position of power TALKS ABOUT BEING A KID AND ENJOYING LIFE.

I can't believe how foreshadowed everything was, from the VERY BEGINING.

Something I have noticed upon re reading wbk 217, on the panel where the RC trio appear to solve the conflict, the sole on one of Rakta's shoe seem to be falling off. In addition, dinning scene seem to indicate that business is not doing too well. Could Suo return back because Bankokugai is having a financial issue? RC protect their people, so they may also support the citizens finanncially. However, over 80 years, the system is falling apart, but RC still continue to support them. As a result, restaurant business is going down. Normal item like shoe is seen to be not important to replace, all to save money.

I noticed the shoe too, and I agree with you. In my fic I talked about how I believe the red chanpuru's 3 way division is failing, and whatever branch was supposed to take care of the other's economies is either not doing its job properly or fully corrupted, and suo's branch now has to deal with the consequences. I kinda hope the manga goes that way too, because then MAYBE this could be solved by punching the problem (ie- corrupt leaders) away, because otherwise, if the trouble is truly 'the city's economic situation is going to hell in a basket' then there's little a handful of highschoolers could do to help

Still, whatever the issue might be, Suo is WAY too young to have the responsability of fixing this on his shoulders, and Rakta and Bacchus don't seem that much older. I hope tomorrow's chapter explains WHY so many people rely on a 15 year old boy, and the explanation better be "anyone else older than him died tragically last week and he was the oldest available and responsible enough" because I swear to god if I see a single adult sitting on their ass while Suo runs himself ragged fixing and entire city worth of issues imma crash out

Lmao yesterday after posting my very angsty Kid Suo fic I went merrily on my way to read an update in one of my favorite, sweet and happy Suo&Rakta&Bacchus fic ("Hold my tea", by yipp_ii and Unicornlover665). And then when I commented, and of the authors almost immediately replied with something that felt very much like

Because apparently, they were midway through my own fic, and recognized my name in the notifications. I went to sleep laughing my ass off.
