“I don’t know. I guess I’m more of the follower type. Up on the trends, so I’m not one to break the mold. I like to fill the mold. Ya know?”

“Not my thing I guess.”

“Really? Man, it’s lucky for them that you ended up with freckles. Otherwise, that would have been a risky move.”

“Well both my parents, and my older sister are freckled, so it wasn’t really a shot in the dark.”

“Exactly like that, yeah,” she replied. “Thanks. Yours is pretty unique.”

“It means freckled in Irish.” Breccan motioned to his face. “So obviously my rentals were spot on.”

“You bet!” She laughed a little, shaking his hand. “Pleasure to meet you, Breccan. I’m Peyton.”

“Peyton, like Manning!” Breccan smiled. “Nice.”

“Oh,” she replied, running a hand through her hair. “Well, then you need to make friends with people like me. I love buying gifts.”

“You do?” Breccan’s eyes lit up. “I’m Breccan.” He extended his hand as an introduction. “Let’s be friends.”

“See, I think it can still be exciting at times. Okay, that’s the first issue! You have to come at it from a place of, like, not worrying about all of that. If you want to get someone a gift, do it. If you don’t, then don’t… Unless it’s your mom, then do it anyway. Trust me on that one.”

“I like receiving gifts though. Buying them is just. Hard work.”

“The part where Christmas becomes about reasonably gifts instead of fun ones.”

“I just want to go back to those days where the excitement of Christmas and waiting for Santa made everything feel so much more exciting. Now it’s just a hassle man. Do I buy this person a gift? What if they don’t have one for me? Should I feel bad if I don’t have one for them?”
