callum--beckettâ:
Callum just shook his head at her question. Heâd never met anyone like her before and he was wishing more and more by the instant that he still hadnât. But the truth was, he was struggling to come up with rent this month, and if she was willing to toss him a grand on the spot, heâd take it. He struggled to feel bad for her the more she spoke of the things sheâd had, apparently up until last night. But regardless of her background it did sound like a tough wake up call. He couldnât help but just stare, with no real words to say, but his brows pulled together once she turned another question back to him. âNo, I usually sit,â he answered straightly with another shake of his head of annoyance. âDo you always talk a fucking mile a minute like that?â
âThen why donât you sit?â she asked, rubbing the makeup from her face. âYes,â she answered bluntly. Her eyes flicked up to meet his once they were scrubbed clean of day old eyeliner. Sterling let out a heavy sigh, balling up her makeup wipes in her hand and glancing around for a trashcan. âSo, do you have any rules or anything?â she questioned, glancing up at him once more. âIs there wifi here? Laundry service? I didnât see a doorman. Is that safe?â She shot off a string of questions, making it obvious how little she knew about life outside of the bubble sheâd grown up in.Â
