Stephanie hid in a spot behind the diner’s parking lot far from where her boss could see her. Reaching for her phone she sighed, ten missed calls. “Fucking hell,” she said out loud.  As she finished her sentence, she saw someone appear. So much for her secret spot. “Yeah, yeah… I’ll put a quarter in the swear jar later,” she said having heard the speech before.

   THE ginger loved eating out after a long day at work .. it was a little treat to herself for having patience with the screaming kids. after the meal, emma paid for it and left. she hadn’t expected anyone to be near her car but thus .. there was someone hiding. “ goodness ! ” she squeaked.  “ you scared me! -- you have a swear jar? ” emma couldn’t imagine how much the girl sweared .. enough to have a jar for it. “ and why .. are you hiding? ”

   EMMA felt her heart flutter at the sight of the officer. she surely hadn’t done anything wrong .. unless cleaning her house was illegal. “ i’m sorry sir -- officer. i was just cleaning my house and it is SO dreadful having to do it in silence--” the girl had to take a second to inhale; she had been talking to fast. “ i’ll turn down my music. again, sorry about that. ”

   emma was so excited to spend time with lucy. no matter how upset she was, the other always seemed to know how to cheer her up .. even if it was just by being around her. she giggled at lucy’s joke. “ it’ll have to be sometime after 3 .. after work. ” the ginger let out a sigh happily. “ thank you, luce. ”
