And let's get back to one of my first loves, the Harry Potter fandom, and especially Severus Snape! I won't sugarcoat it; Severus was a huge asshole and the kind of professor anyone would have hated having. But what a great character!

One thing I'd always wanted to see was a better relationship between Severus and Harry. Because for me, Severus could have been a real father figure to Harry, knowing what it was like growing up in a family that (bluntly) abused him. It's a shame Severus was such an idiot that he never saw beyond James (Swine) Potter's face.

Now, let's move on to advice for great Harry Potter fan fiction on AO3. This one is SeverusXHarry, and while I'm usually not a fan of this pairing, here it works like a charm!

Why make fanart about a 14-year-old series (since its sad and bitter conclusion)?

Because I felt like it.

No, seriously, BBC's Merlin was one of my favorite shows as a teenager and one of the first where I heavily shipped the main characters (maybe even one of my first gay ships… I was 13, understand me! Merthur always in my heart… and I think I had a mini-crush on Morgana… although I realized it sooooo much later…)

Anyway, as a professional shipper and a fan fiction lover, I'll offer you a couple of advice for some of the Merlin fan fiction on AO3 that I enjoyed the most!
