Had the awesome experience of modeling for portraits at an event in the Brighton pavilion a few weeks ago with some of my classmates, such a cool opportunity and I met so many wonderful artists!!!

We made the dresses we were wearing using zero-waste patterns, so we even got to make a cool thing :)

It’s coming along!!! Still need to add a waistband to the skirt but OUGHHHHH the TWIRL

Skirt is coming along well! I’m not sure about the gold overlay though, I may cut it higher up so it helps blend down the yellow better. Maybe layer the off cuts under the yellow to give even more of a gradient?

Regardless, it’s making a lovley shape even without the petticoats!

Trip to the V&A storehouse archives to look at 1950s dress construction for Persephone!!

My final designs for my end of year final project!!! It’s a redesign of the costumes for hades and Persephone from hadestown, I’m going with the far left for her and the middle one for him :D

It’s finished!! AAAA!

If I never see another strip of paper for quilling again it’ll be too soon. The armour is fully made of paper and pva glue and tape, and yes it did take forever to get all the twiddly bits on there but is looks so sick it’s all worth it. I was so stressed about it raining, but it cleared up like five minutes after we started shooting and the lighting for the golden hour came out and OUGH it just looks so cool I’m so happy

Working on a piece for a deadline at the end of the week! Praying I can get it all decorated in time.

Yes it’s all made of paper and I quilled all those little coils by hand. They hurt 👍
