You twoâŚyou watched her get torn apart with those blank expressions?!
That bitter, mocking tone is so nostalgic. How long has it been? A century? Two? Maybe more? Time flowed quite slowly in the Sea, and Featherine never bothered converting that to match the . To do so would be pointless, and quite frankly, rather boring. She has lived long enough to see the stars emerge and fade, so any familiar face is positively delightful.Â
âAugustus Aurora. Must I keep reminding you of that, my miko?â Her words are stern, but the smile on her face says otherwise.Â
Bernkastel is the same as always. That transparent pride and haughtiness would never stop being entertaining, but her shadow seems a little too fine along the edges, and far too contained. So her miko is bound by the same rules as she was, hm? It was almost a shame she wasnât observing when Bernkastel discovered that fact for herself.Â
âIndeed. The fates are fickle, but that will surely keep us entertained. After all, you and I were both drawn to this Fragment. Is that not worth celebrating? Now really, is my company so terrible?â She shrugs off the hateful remark with a laugh. She has heard worse, far worse, and her mikoâs spite is nothing but praise.Â
No matter what she says or do, Featherine would just give off such a calm yet ultimately menacing vibe which is enough for the named cruelest among Witches to delicately scowl-- feeling like her stomach is churning or worse, being ripped off. She loathed the way the other still had that kind of effect on her, especially when they're not in a new battleground where both of them could stand on equal footing. Bernkastel can only hope that her master hasn't earned back anything worth the fear or else she'll lose her once in a lifetime chance to actually attain revenge, though aware that it'll be futile in the end.
She wouldn't dare call her master again aloud, but she knew very well that even without the Creator showering her with condescending notions, she's bound once more. It's only a matter of how to play in the background and attain a satisfying result soon enough.
"I no longer serve you and you're not as powerful as you once were." A bluff that might elicit a reaction she like, if she's lucky enough. Featherine Augustus Aurora-- the idea of being with her isn't exactly pleasurable and will never be
"I'd rather feed on rotten beast meat simmered in the worst vinegar than appreciate you being here."

"I heard no matter what, you'll never be able to slip even the tiniest of metal inside." A side comment, a very uncalled one that is. Surely, she was not to be expected to inherently care about matters that don't really concern her. Still, she allowed what she knew of the area slip out, steps closing in towards the glen of the sixth sector-- an opening that'll lead one to a deeper district. The Witch has yet to enter this place called 'Auburn'. She wonders why a man like him is around. Small wonder what curiosity did.

She sits among a few on a line of chairs prepared for time to time guests, depicting just how much people seem to fancy a fine district such as District Theta. The Witch ought to free herself from the piercing glare of her master. With her loneliness and shallow anger residing within her, she ended up in Regia and contemplated on whether or not she'd go for a swim. In truth, she didn't like the idea of it. But due to the handful of good things she have heard about the waters and the view, she might as well try. However, who can say sheâd actually like whatâs in and out there?
dulcanteâ
It was difficult to tell which and which were actual citizens. Half of the faces she'd seen resembled a few others, repetitive features to mask the emptiness this city actually offered. In the almost countless population, just how many of it was actually real? A half wouldn't be surprising, but in reality she'd expect more with the power the artificial gods have over all of them. She didn't bother to guess this time as she no longer saw the point behind it. Asking directly would suffice.
"You're an NPC or another victim like many others?"
captivefighter
A stabber held his captive in a manner that lack gentleness, an evident assault taking place in the middle of the night. The smaller man struggled in his captor's grasp, only to have the pointy end of the knife trace the nakedness of his neck, almost enough to make him scream and he would if not for the threat towards his life. The Witch took joy in eyeing the scenario from afar before she levitated towards the direction of a young boy when her eyes took note of his presence. It seems she's not the only bystander around.
"What are you doing, standing there awkwardly despite witnessing such a scene." She landed carefully, her tail wiggling about behind her and she tossed a question towards the boy, whom she assumed to be currently appalled.
"Aren't you going to help him?"Â He did strike her as the heroic type. A fool who'd dare put his own at risk if it meant saving a life. Now would be a good time to prove her wrong, or unknowingly indulge her correctness.
abyssartorias
"Do you consider yourself a warrior or a jester?" A challenging query to match the equally challenging expression granted by the Witch with no provided explanation as to why. She had seen her fair share of fighters around the city, some of them proving to be naught but self-proclaimed and half of them expectedly incompetent. Such people never interested her. In this fragment however, perhaps she is willing to bend her personal rule just this once.
She kept on with her smug expression, obviously preparing for a laughing fit. "I must say, you quite look both." Courageous she is.
evabeato
Though silence filled the air of what appeared to be a smoking room, her menacing presence succeeded in surpassing what amount of tranquility should be present by now. Her eyes remained carefully shut and her guard surprisingly down despite the possibility of anyone attacking her anytime soon. It may be because she recognizes her current visitor even without opening her eyes to see whose face it belonged-- that such person was not worth the fear she had only given a few people the privilege to witness. A minute or two, or five and finally ten-- she gives her guest a dangerous look, an undeniably judging one.
"I don't suppose you're here to... explain yourself."

âAuaurora,â
The name left a bitter taste when it decided to escape parted lips, brims that only permit the notions of cruelty and wittiness to flee and set itself towards a particular direction: prepared ears. How long has it been since theyâve last seen each other? Time didnât seem to change much for the Witch of Miracles and it hardly matter to her, if not for the joy of counting how many years or perhaps century that she succeeded in escaping the severe yet lovely threat of boredom. Sheâs more than certain that the same applied to her master, or rather, her previous master. Bernkastel is no longer tied and is no longer cooperating with the schemes the spectator has in mind. In fact, she is now a brain of the works as well; plotting and planning whatever can stray her from the awaiting death that both of them acknowledged.
âWho would have thought a Witch of your caliber would also end up here.â
It was almost charmingâthe thought that a Creator such as Featherine Something Aurora would be deemed just as powerless as she. Such detail may very well bring shivers to the spines of the defeated enemies, ones who have tasted the merciless nature she have inherited from her guardian or whatever some fools in the Court of Heaven would call it. Sheâd rather use the word predecessor despite the absence of truth in it, but the lack of taste will surely bring naught but a smile towards the Witch of Theatergoingâs lips and if Bernkastel was to be honest, it would be the last sight she would want to see in a time and place like this.
She haughtily pushes her empurpled hair back in an attempt to lead her irritation elsewhere. Here she was thinking sheâs finally free from the other Witchâs grasp. It was but for a short moment. Now that her so called master is here, again, the Voyager doubts sheâd have much power to rein this gameboard for herself.
âI wouldnât put it behind you to arrive here for the sake of curing your sickness. Die already.â

Feline Territory
Chuff, moan. âWHAT an adorable little kitten.â
Pitter-patter, paws on the street pavement. Born from Law he was, the stealthy golden-eyed dame who dispatched prey swiftly and silently, but very rarely did he utilise such skills. Maurecai didnât, couldnât hide his following of someone, especially if he or she caught his attention. The concept that white could mix with any sort of colour to make it lighter never really was of particular use to him, so the culpriting cub never used it when eyes were in sight. â JUSâ what do ya hide afore those paws, hmm?â
"Nothing ever worth your interest."
She does not speak for this one fellow and so does anyone else. Thoughts, no matter how vast, cannot be understood without her ability to scan, flip and skim through the pages people call life. Nevertheless, she bluffs and responds in metaphorical and literal sense. If the creature can read between the lines, perhaps it would've guessed that the feline was not in the mood to play. Even so, if it wishes to test the waters, the witch will welcome it. Of course, she finds the fact that she can engage in a conversation with it rather odd but to even question that is out of her mind.
"I know I look appetizing and all but I assure you that I'm not as delicious as you think."
Now who is the one who is âall wordsâ I am actually trying to prove something here. Iihiko shrugged it off quickly afterwords and moved on, he relaxed himself putting his arms down to his side. He was disappointed that she wouldnât attempt using an attack because âthere was nothing in it for herâ. It was easy to counter this although, unless she couldnât die that is.Â
If you attack I will let you keep your life, sounds like a pretty fair trade if you ask me. If there is nothing to give, take something that she has.Â
"I do not think it's a 'pretty fair trade' at all," she admits with a smirk playfully plastered in her face. It was very easy to convince her but it appears as though the man didn't know how. Such a pity if he was to ask her. Keep her life? As if he can steal it away without having himself crushed. Anyhow, this conversation had been fun which is why she inched herself close towards his ear. Of course she cannot do this without levitating so she did, breathing against his skin.
"...since the likes of me cannot be destroyed by beings who hold little importance -- petty, such as yourself." Witches cannot die. Sure, one can deny their existence but does that method work on Bernkastel? Unfortunately, no.
"Then it only means that I do find some type of benefit in this conversation, wouldnât you agree? I assume thatâd be the most logical reason." Bluffing, of course. Kaiki had nothing to better to do in this city, there was no way to get any money. Nobody had any money in this city oddly enough.
"You wish to find out, am I correct?" If not, he wouldn't even dare allow this conversation to prolong and he will click on his heels then find a better prey he can suck on. Predators cannot work on fellow predators it seems but there are times when they're more than willing to change sides depending on the reward at hand. "I believe you have to elaborate more on the matter before I decide if whether or not I'll benefit in return."
âWell, perhaps one day. I believe a substantial relationship is built on trust, and for me to reveal anything past whatâs public, then we would have to trust one another. Not an easy task, per se.â
âBernkastel⌠hm. Thatâs a name unlike any Iâve heard before. Let me formally introduce myselfâmy name is Kirigiri Kyouko.â
"Trust you say? If anything, you should refrain from depending on something one calls a promise. Such is the best way to destroy hope and expectations. Once trust is broken, it can never regain its original form no matter what."
"And Kirigiri, was it? It's a pleasure to meet you, I suppose. On how great of a pleasure that is, I aim to find out soon enough."
daze ⢠⢠⢠}
In Klavierâs old universe, he used to be able to obtain anything with the snap of his fingers. It was possible to call him a princess, but really, he was just a prosecutor. A prosecutor had power over their assigned detective and basically could force them to do whatever. He had Ema Skye as his little investigator, and she always did a thorough job of getting the latest scoop on his crime scenes back to him.Â
He never had to worry about insufficient amounts of information, because Herr Justice also shared some due to his loud mouth. Unlike Bernkastelâs thoughts, he had never worked for something too hard. The closest he got to overworking himself was a stage performance. But even then, the man had a bundle of funâŚas long as his partners didnât miss a beat or anything like that.
âFräulein, donât you think Iâm at least informed of that much? Itâs calledâŚHive City, ja? I would rather focus on things that I donât know.â Sure, he also didnât know anything about what could happen to him hereâthe conditions that could come forth, dangerous titans, and even sales on holidays. Klavier was a man with a one track. If he were to trip for some reason, heâd hop right back on. He was also persistent. The blonde could keep this going on for years.
âI could prepare myself for moreâŚof, er, you.â His lips curved into an unsatisfied frown, but kept himself calm. If he were to lash out his true anger at her, it would not look well for his future information.
Much like the prosecutor, the executioner had the same position in the witching world and she never ever had to deal with maggots such as himself. She can let lowly furniture and her kitties to do the job of gathering information before engaging herself with games. All she has to do is sit down in her lovely throne with a tasty tea at hand and sometimes limbs of her enemies in her plate which is why this conversation did nothing but irritate her, make her think more of a strategy to lure him down since him getting desperate over something as tiny as information isn't enough for Bernkastel. She needs him to kneel down on his knees and treat her like the superior being she is but to do that now is impossible and if she may possibly add, she dislikes receiving severely rushed loyalties.
"It seems so. However, your eyes sparkle as if you need to be reminded. If that pains your pride, do you wish for me to apologize?" She snickers, obviously having fun with his bitter expressions and husky breathes of annoyance. He's very much like a child asking for a penny from his parents and the only way he knows to make it successful is by pouting and faking the sadness in his eyes. However, that will not work against the witch of miracles as sympathy is simply another poison for the proud.
Her snickering fell apart as soon as she heard him. Oh, already giving up? And she even thought he'll be better than that. It's so fun to step on people's precious honor. "...since when have you taken a liking towards overly younger woman? I cannot even call myself one yet you speak as if you're prepared to treat me as one."
Well, this was very much unexpected â to think, she had been speaking this whole time to what looked like a child. However, this was no time for her to be distracted with her amazement. The outcome of this first meeting depended on her actions; if she made the slightest misstep, sheâd likely end up dead again.
Or so, thatâs what she assumed, anyway. Sheâd have to approach this with confidence; there was no room for fear, nor for intimidation. Her gaze locked on the center of the girlâs face, she did not hesitate to address her.
"It seems I was mistaken in my initial assessment of you. I thought Iâd be speaking with a nobler-looking being, but instead Iâm here with a child. Hmm⌠itâs not as if Iâm too much in a better position. WellâŚ"
She paused, her mouth hanging slightly ajar, with a pensive expression that indicated she was conscious of what she just said. Good first impressions were a rarity with Yotsugi. With her brutal honesty came a lack of tact. There was no restraint for someone who didnât know best when not to speak. She made the situation even more problematic. She assumed this to be true, anyway.
Yet, she remained confident, calm, stoic.
"âŚI am the one my master calls Yotsugi Ononoki. That is to say, I could be anyone else, but I donât know of any of those other identities. I guess Iâm stuck with this name. Just as you probably are stuck with yours. Witch of Miracles, was it? Being given such a repulsive and alluring title at the same time. It must be troublesome for you. YepâŚ." Cocking her head sharply to one side, she finally averted her gaze. Itâs not as if she was letting down her guard; in fact, it was quite the contrary. Her eyes darting from size to side, she took in her surroundings while pondering just what sheâs able to do should this meeting turn bad. When she was satisfied with what she saw, she returned her gaze to this girl, continuing to address her in that distant, deadpan tone of voice she always used.
"Names aside⌠how fortunate I am. Or rather, how fortunate we both are. To be able to enjoy the company of each other like this. Have you ever wondered if the scientists would simply off us on a whim?"
When she asked that, her head returned to a more centered position. With that same vacant gaze, she continued to question the girl with those difficult questions sheâd asked others many times before.
"Have you ever wondered the purpose for your existence? That our lives were made forfeit the moment we arrived here, and yet I still wonder this."
It was very easy to crumple one's existence and since she gained some of her abilities enough to kill, silencing someone such as the girl before her will not be such a difficult task. However, she was never the one to assume skills based on how physically blessed someone is. Even the tiniest of people hold extreme potential (not like she's taking herself as a mere example but it still works). She did naught but smirk in the other's direction and fake her amusement. What the other said just now is very disgusting, almost close to making the witch vomit but she didn't.
"Expectations, no matter where you go, are created to be trampled on no matter what the circumstances are. If you find this situation worth the laugh or a mere chuckle, why don't you? No one's restricting your actions for now."
For now, that is.
It's not as if the witch has plans of putting a limit on what and what cannot be done by her pieces. She simply adores satisfying results which is why it doesn't matter a tad bit whether or not violence was used in order to bring good news. In fact, she has done the same. If not, more so, for that's how the witches of the senate work -- with their paws getting dirty, bloody even.
"Is it? I honestly can't tell myself. I hold more temporary emotions than permanent and the only thing in my life what will never be a victim of change is my name as well as my title. Exploring universes is such an easy thing to do and so is changing names but if you can't live without sticking to one fact, then you don't deserve any kind of reward, correct? Unless I'm hitting a spot."
Bernkastel's eyes followed suit with the direction of her glance. Suspicions still linger in their link, it seems. Anyhow, she was not in the mood to halt Yotsugi and let it be known that witch's not deceiving her, not yet. So long as she can behave within the child's presence, what is there for violence to take a role in? Amethyst tiers shun brightly and took every form of doubt, sucking it in as to clean the stinging air. This was good enough for an introduction for she doesn't need to repeat her name.
"I do, I really do." In fact, she cannot let go of the idea in her mind and it haunts her everytime. It's the very reason why she needed to gather the important pieces for her to use in this gameboard.
Again, with the rather vague query. Basing on how their first conversation went, it should be expected that the other will throw another one of its kind but she was simply taken aback as she hadn't thought about it until now. Her existence? If she can choose between death and eternal life, she might as well pick the latter if possible.
"Instead of occupying yourself with something as disastrous as life purposes, why don't you tell me your opinion in accompanying me in my victory? Goals and missions aside, I will pay you depending on the type of service you can provide. Of course by service, I define it as the number of different ways you can physically destroy someone."
