âCourse I came! I jusâ had tâdrive. Yâalways tell me not tâuse my phone even if itâs speech tâtext while I drive.â He teased them playfully as he held the container full of brownies. He carefully stepped it, glancing at the otherâs sweatpants. âWell shit, they do fit ya amazinâly.. Thatâs a shock.â He teased as his eyes flicked right back up. He was happy to be here at the otherâs house right now. He hadnât seen the other in quite a while and honestly, he missed him a lot.Â
âWill do! I made uhh.. Some black forest brownies anâ some regular ones by thâway! I think yâwere thâone that said yâliked thâblack forest last time.â He grinned.
âI think youâre the only person to ever actually listen to my advice, Ber. I just expect yâall to be dumb about it at this point,â they replied, shoving a handful of popcorn in their mouth. It was nice, reassuring even, that one of their friends took the advice they gave seriously. The number of times Virgil had seen preventable accidents lead to very real consequences was staggering and their greatest fear was that one day theyâd see a close friend smeared across the side of the road.Â
âI told ya, everything suits me,â they laughed, looking down at the sweatpants theyâd thrown on earlier. Even though they were too short and only fell to their ankles, the grey fabric was comfortable and loose - not anything theyâd be caught dead in out and about, but perfect for lazy days with one of their favorite humans. âEven short sweatpants in the color âboring grey.ââÂ
Virgil perked up at the mention of brownies, detouring on their way to the couch to grab one from the container Berwyn had brought. If they didnât know any better, theyâd have suspected magic was involved in the creation of such delicious treats. God, they loved Ber. âYou thought correct, my friend. I swear youâre some sort of food magician because these brownies are where itâs at! Thanks for bringing âem, theyâre a huge step above whatever the hellâs in my cupboard.âÂ
