Dear Alec,

I once told you that you were not trivial. It broke my heart that you would think so I should have known then that one day I must tell you this.

It was never your fault that I didn’t talk to you about my past. Centuries are not easy to speak of, and they were not easy to live.

the eldest curses theories !!

because we all know that’s the only thing i care about

SPOILERS !!!

the title of the first book, the red scrolls of magic, correlated to the book because the cult followed the red scrolls of magic. The next book therefore, is most likely to have something major to do with the book of the white, owned by magnus bane, and according to the title - lost.

the lost book of the white specializes in binding and unbinding spells - spells that tie the soul or untie the soul to the body (x)

the eldest curses are as we know, children of princes of hell (i don’t think it can be just any greater demon)

magnus is one, tessa is another

magnus and hypatia’s relationship didn’t sound too serious so the only way he would have told her about his father is if she was also the child of a prince of hell

i’m guessing every prince of hell chooses the one child they think is best fit to be their eldest curse (the title is derived from these lines) :

O, my offence is rank, it smells to heaven; It hath the primal eldest curse upon’t, A brother’s murder.

which basically says that the worst sin has been committed worse than the slaying of cain’s brother

what i’m basically guessing is that the plan is some sort of vengeance on angelic power since all the princes of hell were originally angels.

now back to the lost book of the white !!

this book is for spells about binding and unbinding souls. i think in the lost book of the white, we’re going to see some plan in action that has to do with the souls of these eldest curses being at risk.

for one, cassandra clare once answered that magnus’s soul was in danger in the lost book of the white (x)

i think the plan is to use the souls of the eldest curses (due to their power) for vengeance, tbt to when asmodeus wanted to take magnus’s immortality - and possible soul - in cohf

and i think ragnor fell was originally supposed to help due to his power, his close relation to two well known eldest curses and his ability to do dimensional magic. i think with his power, shinyun wants to summon all the princes of hell from different dimensions, use the souls of the eldest curses to power them and then have them take vengeance on the angels who threw them down. basically, what i’m saying is, this could be the start of an angelic vs demonic war

though i do not think that she would leave tec hanging because it’s meant to be a separate series you can pick up and read without having to read any of the main series.

maybe she succeeds with only some of the eldest curses because magnus and tessa and Hypatia are alive and well after qoaad.

the whereabouts of the black volume of the dead post qoaad are unknown so maybe the book is about finding the black volume of the dead to dispel some of the princes of hell that got to full power and were able to take corporeal form on earth after the lost book of the white.
