Stop promoting mental illnesses!

Depression is not a model with running mascara staring into the sunset. It is staring at the fucking ceiling at 4 in the morning with burning eyes because you can’t even find the motivation to close them.

Anorexia is not a slim figure shily refusing a cupcake. It is hair growing all over your freezing malnourished body.

Bulimia is not a long haired pretty girl bending over a toilet with a tragically beautiful face on. It is a puffed miserable face with vomit dripping from its chin and a fucking nose bleed.

Panic attacks are not burying your face into your lovers chest and having them tell you that everything will be okay. It is feeling out of control and like oxygen has suddenly been taken away from you.

Self harm is not lovely boys kissing your arms and telling you that you are still beautiful. It is nasty fucking scars that will be there forever and showers that sting.

Mental illnesses are not beautiful. They do not make you special and do not make people suddenly care about you. They are monsters that destroy lives.

So stop taking them lightly and promoting them to impressionable teenagers on the goddamn internet.
