I’m so delighted and honored to share that Philipさん has permitted me to provide English translations for their wonderful 王ムギ/MeruKomu manga! ✨ This is a series of connected stories set in a peaceful alternate timeline where Komugi, Meruem, and the Royal Guards live together in the palace. The stories are lighthearted and charming, but they're also not afraid to touch upon thematic elements from Hunter x Hunter's canon source material in thought-provoking (and sometimes deeply profound) ways. I was looking at redraw(2) and just now I noticed that Flashy doesn't seem to be able to belive(or maybe lying to himself?) that Sonic would actually try to kill him of his own free will.

Maybe he thinks he's superior. But I think it's more of a hint about their past relationship.

especially with this panel:

Sonic simply stops Flash's fist with his hand. Normally in this kind of scene A would grab B's fist and throw it to the ground, or something like that, to show that he is superior. It even seems like something you would expect from Sonic, but no, he simply laughs and doesn't get mad.

Ok talking abt the ninja village redraws a bit I think pushing back the god plot a bit was a very good move. It was getting into overexposure a bit where god was no longer this ominous cosmic horror force and just kind of. Showed up anticlimactically.

That being said, the god stuff was the catalyst for a lot of emotional development between flash and sos. It really sucked to have that taken away with the redraws, but I’m holding out hope for it to get touched on when the god plotline becomes a significant focus again.

If it gets dropped entirely though that would be extremely disappointing.

If I may add to the post this morning about how quiet the OPM fandom currently is, there is another reason everyone seems to be holding their breath: redraws.

Now, I am one of those people who loves seeing art as it's made, and I don't mind keeping track of different storylines and appreciate what the author and artist are wrangling with, but it does create a 'wait and see' attitude among readers. You want to see if the chapters will stick before digging in...and that's before we come to people who get confused and frustrated over having to revisit a part of the story, only different.

I know a lot of YouTubers dropped off once the ninja village arc started being redrawn, and I am sure a lot of readers are waiting for the next big thing to start happening.

I mean this with the utmost respect; but I truly believe that Mob Psycho 100 could only have been written by someone that “can’t draw” but truly loves to draw.

And as someone who is the opposite of that I truly appreciate it.

It’s about doing the things you love to do even if you aren’t good at them and not doing the things you’re great at “gifted” even simply because they don’t make you happy or fufill you.

Reigen really looked Mob, the quintessential gifted child, in the face and told him “you don’t have to do something just because you’re good at it, your powers aren’t who you are” and the body improvement club tells him “why give up just because your bad at it? You’re having fun aren’t you?”

Mob Psycho looked the world in the eyes and said you are more than your talents. Being something isn’t who you are it’s a choice you make and you’re allowed to make a different one everyday.

you guys know found family doesnt mean “literally the exact same dynamic as a nuclear family” right? this watering down of found family to mean “mom/dad/siblings/etc” is actually like fundamentally misunderstanding what the trope is. friends can be found family without having some kind of sibling/cousin dynamic. mentors and mentees can be found family without it turning into a “parent-child” dynamic. romantic relationships are very often found family because the trope is about choosing your family, your community, the people you rely on and trust. shipping found families is not inherently weird or incest by any means and even besides shipping this pushing of found families into literal family dynamics really stifles creativity and different interpretations😭😭
