She understood the eagerness reflected in the princess’ eyes. She’d seen it before reflected in the mirror. For many times Ella had done just like the other, sneaking through the kitchen, helping servants here and there, wiping the floor, dusting off furnitures, even growing VEGETABLES for the royal table. Although she finds herself rather contented with the life she has now, there should never come a day when she would grow used to have people serving her all the time.
Hands wave in the air, dismissing the other’s apology. ❝ Oh don’t you worry, barking dogs seldom bite. MADAME Legrand is truly harmless. She won’t, however, pass the chance of quoting you her ladylike manual on how to be practically perfect in every way.❞- it was the governess’ way. Rather SCARY to say the least.
❝ Now this sounds like a LOVELY idea!❞ - words burst out of her lips in enthusiasm. ❝ We have the most beautiful lavender field in the entire kingdom. We could fetch some flowers and fresh apples and, then, I could show you the wishing well. It is truly magical as people say.❞ - voice lowers as if those words were a grand secret and a nod assures the truth of her statment.
she was ready to be let down. part of her knew that asking for a day outside was always just a waste of breath. anyone else she asked would say it was too ‘ dangerous ’ or that she might ‘ run into trouble. ’ rapunzel almost gave up hope, but ella was always there for her. she didn’t see ella as another servant. ella was a friend. she was rapunzel’s only friend, really.
she hated calling them servants. she didn’t like to think of anyone as BENEATH her. no one was better than anyone, yet some people believed they should present themselves in a manner that they were. it wasn’t right. she disliked it almost as much as she did being cooped up behind these walls.
at ella’s approval, a wide grin graced her already smiling lips.
“ really ?! ” she asked, bouncing on her bare feet excitedly. “ oh, yes that’d be wonderful ! i have the PERFECT basket that i had woven back in the tower. let me grab it before we go ! ” she called, running up the stairs in a burst of enthusiasm and excitement.
