« Je n’ai pas refusé Marseille. J’ai simplement dit au coach quand je l’ai eu au téléphone… En fait je l’ai eu au téléphone une fois que c’était sorti dans la presse[…]. Au bout d’un moment il voulait savoir si j’étais intéressé ou non par le projet de l’Olympique de Marseille.

J’ai toujours dit que ce n’était pas une option pour moi de revenir en France, du moins pas dans un avenir proche. Donc ce n’était pas par rapport à l’Olympique de Marseille, puisque le projet est très ambitieux et très intéressant. Mais ce n’était pas pour moi… Le fait de revenir en France n’a jamais été une option. Donc voilà ce n’était pas personnellement par rapport à Marseille car il y avait aussi Lyon. Même si je suis très flatté d’avoir été courtisé par ces deux grands clubs français. »
