I had a green Furby a few years ago, but he was lost to time and soace (meaning that I have no idea where he is) and now I'm searching for a new one to buy

MY THIRD EYE OPENS IM THE FURBY HELP BOY ID ALWAYS RECCOMEND EITHER EBAY OR MERCARI.COM TO BUY FURBIES!!!! ONES ON EBAY ARE CONSISTENT BUT CAN BE KINDA EXPENSIVE, WHILE MERCARI FURBS CAN BE REALLY CHEAP BUT THEY SELL AND LIST REALLY FAST SO YOU KINDA HAVE TO KEEP AN EYE ON IT!!!

FURBY GUIDE UNDER THE CUT

1998 furby prices in general have gotten at LEAST $10 higher ever since long furby went viral and more people found out abt the furby community, but if you wanna get one those are DEFINITELY the ones i’d reccomend!!!!! they come in SO MANY DIFFERENT COLORS AND PATTERNS, theyre SUPER easily customizable with different eyechips+paint jobs, and they’re all around so soft and loving AND good if ur neurodivergent bc they have a good weight,,, v (GEN 8 AND UP WERE DISCONTINUED BTW :( )

furby 2005s are BIGGER but come in only solid ‘natural’ colors/patterns (NOT COUNTING THE FUNKY FURBY BUT HES SO EXPENSIVE) and are SUPER super super expensive overall rn, AND break pretty easily!! THEY HAVE LIMITED VOICE RECOGNITION THOUGH AND SING SONGS I HOLD THEM,,,

furby 2012s+furby booms (BASICALLY the same thing, furby booms are more buggy and have slightly different personalities but also come in pretty designs) are the ones w uhhh the electronic light-up eyes, but they’re less easily modded and make a kind of high pitched snappin sound like old tvs do, to communicate with the app!! UNFORTUNATELY PERSONALLY IT GIVES ME A HEADACHE but theyre still cool, i respect them!!

FURBY connects are the newest one from 2016 and the latest one made, and they’re SO SO SOFT ITS NUTS and their eyes are SO expressive!!! they only come in three solid colors though and their functionality is pretty limited because they’re supposed to be used with a discontinued bluetooth app, but theyre still so cute!!

WERE BEARS INFODUMP POST

I did a Wikipedia deep dive once, so that's how I came to know about Were Bears. Since I thought they were very me-core, I decided to reblog some posts featuring them. I even made a post of my own to inform more people about them, so here it is!

Why does Growler have a blue hat in the comics, but his actual toy DOESN'T? I don't know why, but I guess they wanted him to look a tad bit cooler.

Speaking of Growler, there's also this collector's edition plush of him. Not only does he howl, his eyes even GLOW as well. This iteration of Growler also has that blue cap on his normal face, so looks like it's officially made its way onto one of the toys!

There's also collector's edition versions of Grizzler, Fang, and Howler, but I'm not sure if poor Gums had one.

Speaking of Gums, why is he blue on this comic book cover, but his actual plush's fur color is PURPLE? Looks like he'll get confused with Howler, the actual blue one of the group.

I found these on the Were Bears' official website using the Wayback Machine. Grizzler's wearing a completely different shirt, and Gums is missing his cap. There's also a CGI Were Bears trailer on YouTube if you wanna watch it.

I found an image of this female Were Bear in the group, and I don't even know what her name is. I don't think she had a plush, either.

There was a Were Bears ripoff in 1991 called Beasty Bears, and it's pure plagiarism at its finest. HOW DID THEY NOT GET SUED???

They even stole three of their names, with the exception of Snarly.

Last of all, they might've been an early predecessor to Feisty Pets because of the whole "cute-to-creepy" mechanic.

I can answer some of these!

1. I think the reason he didn't have the hat in the toy was because he had that badge instead, which is something he DOESN'T have in the comics.

2. Gums' fur actually IS dark blue in the plush toy. However, some lighting actually makes it look purple.

3. The female werebear that hadn't been released is named Wendy! I found it on the official Instagram and the official Facebook page.

4. The beasty bears actually AREN'T knockoffs. They're the US versions of the bears. They renamed them the beasty bears because it would get too mixed up with Care Bears. (Again learned this on the official Instagram)

Also, for the feisty pets, their concept is definitely like that with the cute to creepy face thing. However, from the feisty pets' bios and the werebears' tapes and the comics and stuff, the feisty pets are truly mean little critters whilst the werebears have hearts of gold. They're literally the biggest sweethearts ever!

I need you all to know that r/sonicplushes has been in absolute SHAMBLES over the build-a-bear Shadow. People are posting the exorbitant prices scalpers are selling it for. It's going up to, no joke, 1,500 dollars. There's a scam website claiming to be selling the plushies for like 10 dollars. Someone got their package stolen. I checked the subreddit a few days ago and every single post was about the Shadow BAB plushie. I suspect the only reason that's not fully true today is because there's a fucking Shadow Build-a-Bear Discussion Thread. There is a CONTAINMENT THREAD for bemoaning the fact that it's out of stock (and no it is not fully working to keep him contained). There's a FUCKING KOTAKU ARTICLE ABOUT IT. It is chaos in there, sandwiched between general plushie posts and images of the BAB Shadow looking extremely cute/stylish.

(made using the pattern here! though i made the wings with my own patterns, and downsized the head some.) little man COMPLETE! took several months to make because i FORGOT i had NO PLASTIC BEANS to fill this guy with. and then struggled with embroidering the eyes on because as it turns it out that is Very Hard to do when you've already assembled all the fabric pieces together. so. his eyes get to stay closed. permanently sleepy....
