And so midterms begin.
To be fair, I only have one midterm and a paper, but to be fair, I also really need to do well on the midterm.
It's been an incredibly boring first semester thus far, hence the lack of updates. Literally nothing to report.
Most humans are never fully present in the now, because unconsciously they believe that the next moment must be more important than this one. But then you miss your whole life, which is never not now.
Eckhart Tolle (via paveo)
There is no designated time for anything in your life. You don’t have to have your first kiss at any certain time, you don’t have to get married in your 20′s and you don’t have to do anything just because other people think it’s best. In fact, you will be much better off if you just do what your heart says. The day you stop caring what other people think is the day their opinions don’t mean anything, because you’re not there to give them weight.

can you pay your college tuition in trident layers
Do what you can

Of course, you never really forget anyone, but you certainly release them. You stop allowing their history to have any meaning for you today. You let them change their haircut, let them move, let them fall in love again. And when you see this person you have let go, you realize that there is no reason to be sad. The person you knew exists somewhere, but you are separated by too much time to reach them again.

Oscar Wilde said that if you know what you want to be, then you inevitably become it - that is your punishment, but if you never know, then you can be anything. There is a truth to that. We are not nouns, we are verbs. I am not a thing - an actor, a writer - I am a person who does things - I write, I act - and I never know what I am going to do next. I think you can be imprisoned if you think of yourself as a noun.
Stephen Fry
one thing i love about college is that everyone is so exhausted that nobody judges anyone for sleeping anywhere like
just rest your eyes
get comfy
we’re all in this together
you are safe here
it will be ok
This is by far the cutest college post I have ever seen
So I'm waiting for my roomie to arrive until I unpack all of my stuff just to make sure our room arrangement is okay and we won't have to move any more furniture. I definitely don't want to set up my desk and then have to take everything off of the top to move it, you know?
But it's kind of like - I JUST WANT TO GET MY HANDS ON EVERYTHING AND MAKE IT PERFECTTTTT i can't wait until it's all set up and pretty
Also I'm living with white walls rn because again, I don't want to put anything up just to have to take it down if we move stuff. I don't think we will move stuff, but better safe than sorry.
Life happens wherever you are, whether you make it or not.

fair warning: young and naive. take your lectures about adulthood and the real world and the harshness of life somewhere else for right now please i need to stay in dreamland
I think the thing that scares me the most about not having any clue what I'm doing with / going to do with my life isn't that I don't know what I want to do. The not knowing is kind of par for the course for most people, I think.
The thing that really scares me is that I'll never figure out what I want to do and so I'll just decide to do something and I end up working so I can pay my rent and my cable bill and my car maintenance and my internet and every weekend I'll watch some movie or tv and hang out with the same people and eat some pizza and drink some beer and maybe if I'm lucky I'll take a vacation once a year.
And that's fine for people who want that - it isn't as though there is any shame in living your life that way. But I just know that that isn't going to be satisfying for me in any way shape or form. I know that I'm not going to get everything I want out of life, and that sometimes things are going to be hard, and that part of adulthood is paying the bills and working and being "responsible" but I just don't want to fall into that because I can't make up my mind as to what I want to try and be successful at.
Hehe, I think everyone wants to make a good first impression in the beginning… but then we get too lazy and tired to keep it up. >w<;;
Moving in!!!!!!
I don't have my room arranged or any of my stuff out but it's back to dorm living, you guys.
Also I met my house coordinator today and she seems pretty nice - she's already bought communal food so that automatically puts her on my good side ;)
