For those who have overactive guilt complexes like meā¦
Favorite 2021 dramas.
Books I read in 2021. Lots of rereads. My favorite was The House in the Cerulean Sea.
My 2021 top ten artists, albums and songs. More accurate than Spotify Wrapped.
She still insists on going out like 3 times a day, when sheās not sleeping. I play with her and try to distract her, but sheās not that interested in toys. I got her a bird feeder so she can watch the birds from my window but it hasnāt arrived yet. I hope that will make her happier. I also got a harness and we will try if that works to take her out supervised today. I feel like a new cat mom. We had an indoor-only cat for 18 years without any effort to try to keep him inside, so I didnāt know I would have to try so hard for Mina. I wish I had been around all day when I first got her so I could have avoided all the bad habits my mom taught her. Iāve been watching some videos from Jackson Galaxy and it seems like I didnāt know much about having a cat.
Am I complicating things for both of us out of selfishness? I do want to protect her, but what if she gets depressed?
Favorite drawings of 2021 ā„ļø Thank you for coming along on this ride with me!
Weāve been struggling these first few days with trying to turn her into an indoor cat. But luckily we do have a lot of peaceful moments too.

Hi tumblr,
Long time no see. I'm here mainly because I'm on a self-imposed ban from instagram and twitter, so I don't have anywhere else to unload my thoughts and hope some friend, acquaintance, or stranger gives me some good advice or that this just helps me settle my mind.
I'm in a big predicament at the moment. My cat was missing for 3 days, 3 horrible days that I was worried sick she had been stolen, ran over by a car, chased and attacked by a dog, lost without knowing how to get back, not being able to eat anything and drink water, being really cold because it's winter, etc.
Luckily and thank God, the universe, circumstances, or whatever, she was locked inside the neighbor's house. They left without noticing she was there, closed the window she enters through and left for a couple of days, so she had no way out and we had no way to know if she was there. As soon as they arrived and saw her, they came over to let us know she was there.
Since the afternoon she didn't return at the time she usually does I started worrying. I called her constantly not caring the neighbors thought I was crazy, and looked for her around the house. The next day I printed flyers, posted on social media, hired a service that creates localized ads on facebook, and the following 2 days I went looking for her late at night, and at 4:00 am. I cried my eyes out, wasn't even able to fully enjoy the company of my nephew and the rest of my family during Christmas because I missed her and I was worried she was suffering.
She's an indoor/outdoor cat. After I adopted her, I had the intention to make her an indoor cat; but my mom, without asking me or listening to me constantly asking her not to, let her out all the time, so that's what she grew up used to. Lately, she'd been spending more time indoors than outdoors, but still her routine include spending some time on the front yard, observing people and animals from the top of the wall that surrounds our house, walking on the sidewalk in front of the house, and apparently going into the neighbor's house through their window.
After this horrible experience, I really want to turn her completely into an indoor cat. But, just after one day of keeping her indoors, I feel like I'm making her suffer because she really wants to go out. I just bought her some toys that I'm hoping will make being indoors more interesting. I listened to some podcasts, and read some blogs that said that that's what I need to do. But I really can't imagine it will ever be more interesting than what she does outside and enjoying the trees and everything she sees. I want to protect her, but what if it's really selfish of me to not let her be the way she is and enjoy being outside like she does??? I know the responsible thing is to keep her inside, but it's really hard to keep her from what she enjoys. š£ I can't fully transform the house and create a completely interesting environment for her because this is not my house. When I move I'll be able to keep her inside all the time, but even then I'm not sure she'd be as happy as she is here, because here she's free. That's the thing, I feel like I'm depriving her of her freedom.
Do you feel insecure about yourself like I do?
I suppose that, sadly, everyone of us does feel insecure from time to time. Insecurity is often caused by not feeling good enough. But we should ask ourselves, good enough for what? For the only person we should be good enough for is yourself. The media, as well as advertisements make us believe that we are flawed and that those flaws need to be fixed. Most of us grow up with the belief that we should compare ourselves and compete against others, when in reality you should compare yourself and compete only against yourself. Yes, we have flaws, but flaws are not a bad thing, they do not need to be fixed. You do not need to be like someone else. All you need to do is be yourself. It takes a lot of courage and effort to eliminate the way of thinking that most of us have been taught (through our parents, school, friends etc.), but it is so freeing to realise that all this time we have been seeing our existence in a wrong perspective. We exist to live our own, authentic lives. We do not exist to copy others and compete against everyone we know. Everyone is beautiful, everyone is amazing and everyone is here for a (different) reason. To answer your question, yes, I do feel insecure from time to time, but I do my best to fight it. Feeling insecure and bad about ourselves is okay, I just want you to know that there are ways to go against it. And I want to remind you that you are special in every way - there is absolutely no need to compare yourself or feel worthless, my love. You are freaking wonderful.
Hot take: people waiting for celebrities to āspeak outā about things like racism are just fans wanting to be reassured that they can keep supporting their fave. No sane, well-informed person with their own moral compass would await confirmation that racism is bad from celebrity #397.
Extra-hot take: if you expect these people to use their platform to educate, why? Why do you think they know better than people who dedicate their lives to these causes and can do a better job of imparting meaningful information? Go look to your community leaders and your teachers for information, maybe?
Super spicy take: if you think these celebs are actually able to influence people to evaluate their biases and moral code and perception of issues, then ask yourself why you would want a person largely isolated from major social and economic issues to even have that kind of influence.
is tumblr a safe place from news of the world burning?
so deep, so genius
Sometimes I wonder if native English speakers appreciate how much more comfortable the internet is for them than for the rest of the world
Like, you can go on tumblr and simply read stuff on your mother tongue? Amazing. Go on youtube and you donāt have to replay some sentences ten times to try to understand what theyāre saying? Incredible. Look for practically anything on google and know that there will be a fuckton of results that you can read without having to spend half the time looking up words in a dictionary? Fascinating. Make a post or send an ask without panicking that youāll make a silly mistake or that they wonāt understand what you meant? Unbelievable.
Absolutely agree with OP. On the flip side, I was reminded of the disadvantages to its speakers, this English being such a public language.
Thereās more than one note saying:Ā āI thought the internet just translates the English for them,ā and ⦠no. No, our brains do that. Itās calledĀ āspeaking another languageā.
and they still donāt know how to spell
