i donât think a lot of people even knew about that issue (i sure as shit didnât) and have been doing it the manual way. i tested this on my one dress (one version was done ye olde manual way and the other with cas tools) and def saw and improvement with how the dress moved with the body when i used cas tools. i donât know why more creators donât let ppl know about this but whatever. âtrade secretsâ and whatnot.
if you have cc where the arms clip through the mesh? or dress morphs that donât work on fat sims no matter how much you subdivided your og mesh during uv1 and weight transfer? this will fix it and takes a lot of frustration out of cc creation.
itâs good to know how to manually do things as a back up but this helps too.
iâve been fixing other peopleâs cc with this and most of the alpha stuff that justâŠdidnât work on anyone bigger than a toothpick now works properly in game.
Haiii! As promised, here is the tutorial to make it so your custom shoes no longer require a shoe slider!
Thank you to the bestie who took the time to pick through Madlen's package file to figure out how it worked. And of course, thank you to Madlen who did the majority of the work figuring out how to make this possible in the first place!
â„ Tut below cut â„

Set Up Your Blend File:
We're going to add a plane that will act as the mesh for the SlotRay which will allow for you to adjust the height of your shoes!
Open your blend file that contains the shoes your wish to adjust.
In the 3D View, press Shift + S and in the menu, select âCursor to Centerâ In the 3D View, press Shift + A and in the menu, hover over âMeshâ then add a plane.
Now size this plane down as small as you can get it. You donât want this plane visible in game.
Double check to make sure the plane has not moved from the center!! Your sim won't be centered in game if it has! If you see that it's moved:
Press "Shift + S" and click "Cursor to Center".
Then Select your plane and press "Ctrl + Shift + Alt + C", click "Origin to 3D Cursor".
Press "Ctrl + Shift + Alt + C" again and click "Geometry to Origin".
Navigate to the âObject dataâ tab and under âUV Mapsâ add a new one then name it âuv_0â.
Next, navigate to the âSceneâ tab and under âS4Studio CAS Toolsâ set the cut number.
Depending on how many cuts your shoes have, youâll want to adjust this number. For example, if your shoe has 3 cuts (0000, 0001, 0002) then this plane would have a cut number of 0003.
Since my boots only have one cut, I will put the number as 0001.
Now select your shoes and enter Edit mode. Select a face/vertice/edge on the very bottom of your shoes. Look to the panel on the left side of the screen (if itâs not open, press âNâ). Under âTransformâ, note down the number next to âZâ
After that, save your blend file under another name so you can distinguish which is which. Iâll name mine âBoots_3_Height Cutâ
~~~
Add a New Cut to your Package File:
We're going to add an additional cut in your package file for the new plane!
Open Sims 4 Studio, make a new package file for your shoes and import them.
Go to the Warehouse tab and select your LOD 0, it will be the geometry with the largest file size. Sometimes you have to close then reopen the package to see the geometry.
Duplicate this geometry and in the box that pops up, change the last character of the âGroupâ. It can be any number or letter as long as itâs not the same as the duplicated geometry. On the duplicated geometry, note down the Group, Instance & Type values.
Find the âRegion Mapâ and next to âEntriesâ click âEdit Itemsâ. Add a new entry and in the âLayerâ box, type the number you used for your cut. Since I used the cut number 0001, I will type 1.
Keep the âRegion Typeâ as âBaseâ and move to âModelsâ then click âEdit Itemsâ. Add a new Model entry and paste the Group, Instance & Type values you noted down before. Save and close each box.
Find your âCAS Partâ, this is your swatch.
If you have additional swatches, it is a good idea to remove them and add them back once you are finished with this process.
Scroll down until you find the âLodsâ.
Click âLevel: 0â and next to "LOD Models", click âEdit Itemsâ. Add a new entry and paste the Group, Instance & Type values again.
Save & close each window and return to the Warehouse.
Adjusting SlotRays:
We are now going to edit the SlotRays for the new cut which will adjust the height of the sim for your shoes!
Return to the new duplicated Geometry and in the âDataâ tab, find the âSlotRay Intersectionsâ and click âEdit Itemsâ. Add a new entry and find the âOffsetFromIntersectionsOsâ box.
You'll want to change ONLY the middle coordinate number. That will be the height of the sim.
You want to take the âZâ coordinate that you noted down from blender and replace middle coordinate number. Â If the number you wrote down is negative (i.e -0.01234) make it positive (i.e 0.01234).
In the âSlotHashâ box, change the value from â00000000â to âFEAE6981â. This is the hash for the b__ROOT__ bone in the Sim's Rig.
Save and close the dialogs then return to the warehouse. Next, reimport your mesh and save your package file. You can now test your shoes in game!
Please keep in mind:
You have to do this for every LOD of your mesh
You can freely replace the mesh of your shoes and adjust the height since the cut with the plane has the SlotRay data
Animations may be off since EA hasn't made the game to support taller sims
CAS windows may move slightly if your sim is using poses/animations where they are leaning to the side. This won't affect gameplay
I recommend using Helgatisha's Stand Still in CAS mod to make sure your sim is absolutely centered
Mr. Rogers testifies before the Senate Subcommittee on Communications on PBS funding, May 1st, 1969
Senator Pastore: Alright Rogers, youâve got the floor.
Mr. Rogers: Senator Pastore, this is a philosophical statement and would take about ten minutes to read, so Iâll not do that. One of the first things that a child learns in a healthy family is trust, and I trust what you have said that you will read this. Itâs very important to me. I care deeply about children.
Senator Pastore: Will it make you happy if you read it?
Mr. Rogers: Iâd just like to talk about it, if itâs alright. My first childrenâs program was on WQED fifteen years ago, and its budget was $30. Now, with the help of the Sears-Roebuck Foundation and National Educational Television, as well as all of the affiliated stations â each station pays to show our program. Itâs a unique kind of funding in educational television. With this help, now our program has a budget of $6000. It may sound like quite a difference, but $6000 pays for less than two minutes of cartoons. Two minutes of animated, what I sometimes say, bombardment. Iâm very much concerned, as I know you are, about whatâs being delivered to our children in this country. And Iâve worked in the field of child development for six years now, trying to understand the inner needs of children. We deal with such things as â as the inner drama of childhood. We donât have to bop somebody over the head toâŠmake drama on the screen. We deal with such things as getting a haircut, or the feelings about brothers and sisters, and the kind of anger that arises in simple family situations. And we speak to it constructively.
Senator Pastore: How long of a program is it?
Mr. Rogers: Itâs a half hour every day. Most channels schedule it in the noontime as well as in the evening. WETA here has scheduled it in the late afternoon.
Senator Pastore: Could we get a copy of this so that we can see it? Maybe not today, but Iâd like to see the program.
Mr. Rogers: Iâd like very much for you to see it.
Senator Pastore: Iâd like to see the program itself, or any one of them.
Mr. Rogers: We made a hundred programs for EEN, the Eastern Educational Network, and then when the money ran out, people in Boston and Pittsburgh and Chicago all came to the fore and said weâve got to have more of this neighborhood expression of care. And this is what â This is what I give. I give an expression of care every day to each child, to help him realize that he is unique. I end the program by saying, âYouâve made this day a special day, by just your being you. Thereâs no person in the whole world like you, and I like you, just the way you are.â And I feel that if we in public television can only make it clear that feelings are mentionable and manageable, we will have done a great service for mental health. I think that itâs much more dramatic that two men could be working out their feelings of anger â much more dramatic than showing something of gunfire. Iâm constantly concerned about what our children are seeing, and for 15 years I have tried in this country and Canada, to present what I feel is a meaningful expression of care.
Senator Pastore: Do you narrate it?
Mr. Rogers: Iâm the host, yes. And I do all the puppets and I write all the music, and I write all the scripts â
Senator Pastore: Well, Iâm supposed to be a pretty tough guy, and this is the first time Iâve had goose bumps for the last two days.
Mr. Rogers: Well, Iâm grateful, not only for your goose bumps, but for your interest in â in our kind of communication. Could I tell you the words of one of the songs, which I feel is very important?
Senator Pastore: Yes.
Mr. Rogers: This has to do with that good feeling of control which I feel that children need to know is there. And it starts out, âWhat do you do with the mad that you feel?â And that first line came straight from a child. I work with children doing puppets in â in very personal communication with small groups:
What do you do with the mad that you feel? When you feel so mad you could bite. When the whole wide world seems oh so wrong, and nothing you do seems very right. What do you do? Do you punch a bag? Do you pound some clay or some dough? Do you round up friends for a game of tag or see how fast you go? Itâs great to be able to stop when youâve planned a thing thatâs wrong. And be able to do something else instead, and think this song â
âI can stop when I want to. Can stop when I wish. Can stop, stop, stop anytimeâŠ.And what a good feeling to feel like this! And know that the feeling is really mine. Know that thereâs something deep inside that helps us become what we can. For a girl can be someday a lady, and a boy can be someday a man.â
Senator Pastore: I think itâs wonderful. I think itâs wonderful. Looks like you just earned the 20 million dollars.
Now what? After 3 weeks of protests and educating ourselves and educating others, how do we keep the momentum going for this civil rights movement? How do we make permanent change?
âââSexual assault of Asian women on college campuses is a major issue. Hello! Today I have for you FINALLY a new tutorial on how to make realistic chains in blender! I was asked soooooooooo long ago to do this so Iâm sorry it took so long! Turns out listening to yourself talk for hours a day is not that fun to do haha.
Hope you enjoy and hope it helps those of you who need it!! :)
This is piece 2 out of 3 of my mini drop! This piece is by far one of the first pieces I actually made! The mesh is by me and all credits to the CC Creators I used to pull this look together.
