leon golub says, “monsters exist because we create them through war and violence and distortion and the way we handle people and so on.” he and the rest of the monster roster draw monsters to prove how monsters are made (or, how war happens). golub’s interrogation scenes “[invite] the viewer into the space of the action” to implicate monstrosity of the viewer and subjects both. via the broad:
