          wes stood outside the kappa house, smirk tugging at his lips, amber hues squinted as he studied the window he believed to be april’s. at least, he hoped it was april’s, stones weighing lightly in his palm. shifting slightly, the thumb of his free hand caught in the strap of his backpack in an attempt to distribute the weight more evenly. the metallic clink of cans-- though not the type he was sure april would accuse him of having-- echoed quietly in his ears. wes knew where the girl lived in theory, of course. but things looked different at night, rows of identical windows all spilling with yellow light. he took the plunge with a small shrug, tossing one stone and then another at their destination. he could have gone inside, of course. but this was more likely to grab her attention. and wes enjoyed making an entrance. “april!” his voice echoed loudly through the mostly silent night, the campus quiet as most students tucked in for bed. “april, april, wherefore art thou april? i’m going to keep yelling until you pay attention to me.” @aprilrse

the brunette laughed, her head tipping back slightly as she did so, her long hair tickling her lower back. “i’ll remember that.” she lifted her shoulders in a shrug at his statement, never one to say no to food - today could be her cheat day. “i’m on a diet, you know.” she said with a slight laugh, “i guess i can have a cheat day though - for you.” she said with a wink. as he pulled out a towel, she turned around, pulling her hair over her shoulder - having as much hair as she did was tough in the hotter months. before she could turn around, she felt hands on her hips and lips on her neck, her eyes fluttering shut for a moment. they opened again at his next statement, her back straightening to turn around before her lighter was taken and he was lighting up. she rolled her eyes slightly, making her way over to the window. “you’re gonna make a poor girl work even more after a twelve hour night shift?” she asked, pouting at the boy before taking the joint from him, inhaling deeply. she held the smoke in for a moment, pulling in more air as she did so, before letting out a large billow of smoke, waving it through the window with her hand. at one point in time, that single inhale would have been enough to get her high, but her tolerance had gone up greatly as she got older. the nights she spent drinking and smoking really did have an effect on how much she could handle. once, she had outdrank the entire football team. she turned away from him, looking over her shoulder as she did so, her hair falling over her face slightly. “you wouldn’t want me to be overworked, would you?” she asked, fluttering her long eyelashes slightly.

wes rolled his eyes at her statement, a scoff leaving his lips. “you don’t need to be on a diet. you’re fucking hot.” it was the closest he came to compliments. “we’re stuffing our faces with chicken nuggets and you’re gonna like it. right after this.” grabbing the joint back from her fingers, he held it to his lips again. his tolerance had never been low, but it had skyrocketed since coming to college. he could have easily smoked the entire thing himself. he didn’t mind sharing with marley, though. she was good company. especially when she provided the weed. moving back toward his bed, he took another hit, inhaling deeply and patting the space on the comforter beside him. “it’s like queen rihanna, all hail, says. you have to work.” amber hues glinting, he flops backward, passing over the joint and turning to face her. fingers move to tug at the back of her bralette, thumb stroking absentmindedly down her side before falling back against his check. “i have a very strong work ethic. as far as i’m concerned, there can never be too much of it.”
