What the hell is going on?
It’s been a couple of week’s, what the hell is going on? We have officially entered the so loved magical season! Personally it has never been my favorite time of year. I despise the commercialism that has engulfed so many. The thought that a place like Walmart and so many other retail stores are fit to be open on Thanksgiving day so the drone humans can leave the company of their families and go shop for more SHIT! Really?…and some wonder what has happened to family values and the simple joy we get from being present with other humans. I miss the days, when if you forgot to buy the canned cranberry sauce, well then, Thanksgiving would be cran-sauce free…YAY! And the music! The music is fun and festive, but not for six weeks…EVERY WHERE YOU GO! Its an infestation of sorts and eventually I feel like bugs are going to crawl from my eyes and head to the light….not because I have a head full of bugs, but rather, because the music after a bit makes me feel buggy! It’s completely screwed how sad so many people get, or how stressed friends and family get about how little or how much they can give to others (and this is the shit that some have left the Thanksgiving dinner table to go get)! How can we say this is a magical season when family and friends are depressed, stressed, and silently wishing for the season to come to an end? How can we make the season magical? How can we bring light to the dark? I want to take the sadness away, remove the stress, and simply live in the moment like every other day! When our eyes meet, I want to transfer joy to your heart. If for only a moment I want to understand you and you understand me. I could care less about the monetary establishment this time of year has created. In fact I would love to boycott spending! Today as I work through this Friday, I will be aware. I will be patient and kind. I will share moments of laughter with my colleagues and friends. I will share joy, love, and the usual giggles with my family at home! How will you make this season merry and bright? Can you find a way to make a moment magical without the help of the ole’ mighty dollar?
