Friday Night Kin

This is a sideblog for a couple FNF alterhumans in a system to do requests for their series! We're all around the alterhuman spectrum.

We won't distinguish ourselves because a lot of us would like to remain anonymous, but that may change in the future. We have a lot of Skids and Pumps for some reason though

We will do requests for fictionkin, fictives, copinglinks, synpaths, etc.

hey so im following cuz we have fnf fictives- buuut also i have psychosis, and i have uh delusional attachments/misidentifications. is it cool if i can request stuff too?

Sorry we fell behind in requests and keep meaning to work this blog a bit, but to answer this question

Delusional misidentification, endals, and other types of identity related to delusions are fine!

But for delusional attachments, no and here's why:

We've seen multiple people especially kin with psychosis speak out against the term

It was spread against the coiner's wishes, being coined as a personal term, and caused them to get harassed and delete their Twitter

It's used to contribute to a lot of kin misinformation and armchair diagnose otherkin and fictionkin especially.

Further: Kin is involuntary and where you genuinely consider yourself to identify as that thing, but we've never seen anything explaining delusional attachments say that and sometimes they say the opposite.

So we will not be doing requests for delusional attachments, but other delusion-related identities are fine.

What does armchair diagnosis mean?

Trying to diagnose someone with a mental illness when you’re not qualified to, I can’t remember what that was referring to specifically on our dni, but off the top of my head an example is trying to say someone you don’t know is delusional or has psychosis for being otherkin.

hi, i wasn't genuinely aware of the bad history the term "kinnie" had and used to say it a lot in reference to myself cause of echolalia. is it okay to interact if i did say it before but don't intend to anymore now? (mainly asking since it was frequent said on my blog for that reason)

Thank you for asking, you should be fine! That part of the dni is moreso referring to people who actively call themselves/others it, we completely understand that not everyone is aware of the associations with the term, and it’s fine if you no longer use it!

hii! what iis p-shiifting?

hi! It’s short for “physical shifting” and involves the belief that you can physically shapeshift into your kintype/theriotype 

it’s physically impossible to p-shift, but it’s also a problem especially in therianthropy because p-shifting groups usually leads to cults, especially for packs where the “alphas” claim to p-shift  

I don’t think we’ve seen it as much with fictionkin even though we’ve seen cults, but we figured it’s probably still worth having on a dni because it can be dangerous

hi, whats wrong with using "kinnie" and kin pendelums/kin assignmnets/p-shifting

okay so 

kinnie: came from anti-kin to be used as an insult and generally has a lot of negativity with its usage and is commonly used by anti-kin (including in places like kf). there is also some suspected transphobic origins for the term. 

some people have tried to “reclaim it”, but it’s not a slur just an insult that doesn’t need reclaiming and in our experience people trying to “reclaim it” are usually not people we want around. others use it as a replacement for tumblrkin/fluffy or an alternate to kff, which we don’t agree with. 

kin pendulums: pendulum readings over the internet are almost never accurate and I know a lot of kin friends who have sent asks to different kin blogs and most of the time got a wrong answer, but with kin especially it can be extremely misleading because kin is something important to your identity. having a stranger tell you your kintypes can also open up several problems and is a red flag. 

kin assignments: mostly came from non-kin and has caused a lot of misinformation about kin. you can’t pick your kintypes, kintypes aren’t usually reflective of your personality, etc. the concept of character assignments is fine, but really shouldn’t be called kin. 

p-shifting: literally impossible and has lead to actual cults in therianthropy.
