She definitely legalized same-sex marriage in Genovia
If things had gone according to my plans, I’d be a lawyer. I never dreamt of being an actress.
So, I watched the trailer for ACS
Darren still can’t act
At. All.
I already had a negative opinion of Darren’s acting talents from Glee (and episodes like Big Brother that were designed as vehicles to show his dramatic “acting”_). He over emotes in a way that lends itself to unplanned comedy and makes serious dramatic moments laughable. From what I saw on the ACS promo, he isn't portraying Cunanan, but giving us a caricature of Versace’s killer. And again, he’ll try to soak up the prestige of playing a gay character when he’s (unintendingly perhaps) mocking gay men.
BITCH IF THIS EVER HAPPENED 😭🤯
ok i actually believe Melanie raped that girl, but wouldn't be funny if she actually didn't do it and people are throwing out their cd's and shit they spend money on, for nothing?..
I was hoping the Love, Simon trailer would make me like this story, since it seems being in the bookish world and being gay it is a requirement. But I just … don’t.
First off…I don’t get how a coming out story is still considered “groundbreaking” as EW put it. Moonlight, a story about gay black men literally won an Academy Award for best film last year. I guess you could say it fills the gap as being a “happy” LGBTQ film from a large studio. Though we’ve had quirky coming out stories that are pretty much just like it years ago. The trailer feels like a newer version of these two:
Edge of Seventeen (1998)
Get Real (1998)
Both of which are from nearly 20 years ago.
I just don’t understand what’s so groundbreaking about a coming out story starring a straight guy, based on a book written by a straight lady. Is it that only straight people get to tell our stories successfully?
i don’t understand the “starring a straight guy, based on a book written by a straight lady” part…
like, how is that even an argument? THAT’S NOT RELEVANT
It’s very relevant. Our stories are constantly appropriated by straight people time and time again. I’m tired of straight women writing stories about us as if they know what it’s like I’m tired of straight women writing coming out stories and “forbidden love” M/M romance. Also, it was a really bad book that sounded like a 40 year old woman attempting to sound like a modern teen. It was painfully awkward.
I don’t want to read a book about a gay sixteen year old written by a forty year old straight lady with a husband and kids. And then they cast a straight guy as the main character?
Sorry, i’m bi but i really don’t give a fuck about the actor’s sexuallity. It’s called “acting”.
I don’t know how i feel about Liu Yifei playing Mulan... She’s pretty, but for what i know that’s it. She doesn’t really get compliments about acting. Also, Mulan is supposed to be strong, Liu Yifei is too delicate and “cute”. How is she going to pass as a man? I swear they better not be focusing too much on the “princess” thing...

Dianna hasn’t disappointed you, has she?
Oh not at all... I also like her. She seems like a sweet person, just not one of my faves out of the glee cast
Jenna Ushkowitz and Amber Riley you two better not disappoint me in the future i swear...
Naya what the actual fuck, bitch?!?!?
But honestly i guess we shoud been knew??
