Freedom
Is freedom of speech something that comes with responsibility or is it just a chaotic action of throwing caution to the wind? Is there a place for respect or regard in this kind of freedom. Or does freedom of speech disregard the humanity and dignity of others for the sake of following your own will?
We believe that you should not be a stumbling block to others and cause them to sin. 1 Corinthians 8: 9 ( NIV ) “ Be careful, however that the exercise of your rights does not become a stumbling block to the weak.”
If you anger a person by offending them and this leads them to commit an atrocious act due to their own weakness then you are not following in the footsteps of Jesus.
As Christians we should be kind, patient, gentle, loving, joyful, have self-control, forbearance, be good and faithful.
How does this apply to non-Christians?
Well I think the answer lies in our humanity. We are all part of one creation, one humankind with different languages and cultures. But in essence our “human-ness“ is the same experience of love , joy , pain, etc. Should we then not treat each other with kindness, respect, mutual understanding and empathy?
As Christians , the two of us are deeply sad that so many have recently lost their lives in France due to this ( amongst other things) irresponsible use of freedom on the one hand and anti-Semitism on the other hand which has created a fertile soil for evil to be nurtured. More than anything else the loss of unsaved souls brings great heartache. That all these stories which began at birth should come to such a dark and violent end only underlines the fact that we as Christians should pray unceasingly for both our unsaved brothers and sisters as well as our enemies.
May Jesus change their hearts and minds.

Beauty of creation
The angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay.
