Halloween was a holiday Aurelie wouldn’t have particularly minded before. In fact, as a small child, she had devoured books in her grandfathers library about the holiday. She liked the thought of keeping evil spirits at bay with a simple mask. She had always been fond of wearing masks. This did not mean that the girl held any positive feelings for the day however. Halloween was a dark day for a reason. Before memories could bubble to the surface Aurelie shoved them firmly away and turned to look at her betrothed coolly. “I think you’d make a cute cat.” She said half teasing, half disinterested.

“A cat?” Amycus responded incredulously, raising his brows at the blonde girl seated before him. He knew full well that Aurelie wasn’t serious about him having to match her at the annual Halloween costume party, but even the thought of it alone made him shudder in disgust. It was stupid. Halloween was stupid now because of all the unnecessary celebrations people made. He yearned for the days when Halloween meant just Halloween for him—a day that his parents told him was dark and yet mystical. Was that not the point of it? With another sigh escaping his parted lips, the Slytherin boy finally voiced the question that had been weighing down on his mind. “Must we attend the annual party?” he asked, in hopes that Aurelie would tell him that it was alright for him to let her attend alone ( or if she wanted to, she could not attend at all, but that wasn’t any of his business ).

Ah, Halloween. Amycus’ most and least favorite holiday of the year—for different reasons, of course. There was a certain darkness that fascinated the boy about October the 31st, but the silliness that people associate with the very same day irked him to no ends. He still didn’t understand why costume parties were associated with the holiday. Sighing as he looked over to his betrothed, Amycus drawled out, “You’re not expecting me to match whatever it is that you’re wearing, are you?”

Cheering Charm, Portus, Nox

Cheering Charm - 3 things that makes my character happy.

Silence that isn’t awkward, dressing up nicely, and playing the harp. And she isn’t a thing ( Merlin, she is so much more than that ), but Alecto makes him happy too—at least for most of the time.

Portus - The best place my character has visited or lived.

The Carrow Manor is a gorgeous place, but there is something about it that does not sit well on Amycus. It’s his home by default, but he has never felt more at home than he does in the Slytherin Common Room. That is where he belongs.

Nox - 1 thing my character regrets the most.

He does not regret the things that he did, and rather the things that he didn’t. He regrets not telling Alecto that he loves her when they were children. He regrets not defending her in front of their parents. He regrets not speaking up when he knows that there are times when he should’ve spoken up—and that people will also listen to him.
