Here is a behind-the-scenes timelapse I produced for another photographer I assisted recently. I love it and it’s very easy to do- I ended up doing the same for my own shoot this past Sunday in the studio, look forward to sharing asap!

A lot of loads of garbage, sweeping, cleaning, moving, and unpacking later, I have my first studio in NYC ready to shoot. The speakers have been repurposed as a studio sound system from my college DJ rig. The table for my tethering computer is made of old pieces of furniture I found in the house, along with a lighting controller from my DJ equip. to power it up. I found the roll of seamless paper abandoned here from when the space used to actually operate as a commercial studio; it’s a bit beat up but still has some life left in it!  Just need some models and (preferably) clients!

I recently did a live shoot at a pop-up studio with No.3 Magazine at LUMAS art gallery in Chelsea. It was a chaotic event where I was being pulled in all directions to shoot models in-studio, around the space, as well as event-coverage for the gallery and the magazine.  We were supposed to rent lighting, but apparently all rental houses are closed on Saturday- didn’t see that coming. Thankfully I had just brought my equipment to NY the night before and we were able to put together the studio with all of my own lighting, stands, and cameras. There was an entire team of makeup artists, hair stylists, models, all working under the creative direction of No.3 Magazine’s art director.  Here are some of the results above and some behind-the-scenes from the event.
