Behold the beauty that is the Anamalai dot frog [Uperodon anamalaiensis], a species of narrow-mouthed frog native to South India. The existence of this species was uncertain for decades, until new specimens were finally discovered in 2010. Images by Daniel V Raju.

Portrait of a vanishing beauty of Central America: the Lemur leaf frog (Agalychnis lemur). A critically endangered species which still thrives against all odds in Costa Rica, Panama and a little bit in Colombia. This one is from the Costarican populations, from Veragua rainforest Centre, where this species is also favored by some human made ponds, dug for conservation purposes.
