F***ing Double Double at In and Out Burger
Looking out over the ocean and feeling connected to the world in some weird way.
Visiting the Santa Monica Pier... I was so lonely in Los Angeles, and I look back and of course I based my impressions of the city on my experiences. It really was a time that forced me to reexamine a lot my fundamentals and the direction of my life.
Things are looking up
Linda at Sunset... Could you believe she was 31?
Meeting with Linda. I met this wedding photographer out in LA for a photoshoot. It was nice to have a chance to talk some shop and get some great images of a real beauty with a great sense of style.
My cousin and his friends. That moment was a chuckle.
This guy was literally talking about how his dog kicked the shit out of some other dog when I took this picture... and in a silent, unspoken manner, communicating how much of a douche he was.
The sweetest thing he owns in LA...
Out the front of my cousin’s place, door open, on a shitty day. Suburbia, of which I’ve partially managed to keep out of my whole life, has always fascinated me. I mean suburbia, some of which is a built to higher standards than this, always manages to lack the quality of living that I find in closer knit situations like where I live now, Brooklyn, NY. Walking to the store, your neighbor is 3 steps out your doorway, and most important, you don’t need a car.
Details by the fire in Hollywood with my cousin, Dylan.
My cousin, Dylan, around the fire with me, somewhere in Hollywood. I don’t know how you’re even allowed to have a fire in LA. I mean, there are already enough cars creating green house gases and then you throw in a fucking fire for luxury? It was a lot of drunken fun and deep conversations.
Everyone asks if this a photo... And indeed it is, an eerie one. It was taken of a TV who’s signal had come in scrambled. I found this black and shadowy figure within the mess and positioned a pair of light’s reflection’s on the TV’s surface and snapped away. It’s how I felt, with a fever of 103 degrees, lost in LA.
I walked out the door of this train, meeting along with it a cousin whom I hadn’t see in a long time. I was sick and tired. I had come from New York, of which I had recently fallen in love with, Portland which showed me a side of myself I hadn’t see before, and landed in LA, of which I wasn’t feeling.
California sun down the coast line: heading south from Portland, set to arrive in LA in roughly a 24 hour elapsed time, I was privy to a quite spectacular sunset... All the while I was getting quite sick and would spend the next two weeks feeling like shit and making bad impressions on distant cousins... Which would ultimately shy my future move from Colorado away from Los Angeles. It’s all about impressions....
A relaxing moment.
