Today is Friday, which is pay day for a lot of people…but they’re showing up to do their normal grocery shopping and finding everything gone. I couldn’t get any of the usual stuff we need myself, though we do have enough at home that we’ll manage. Lots of other people aren’t that lucky. Even for those most at risk of covid-19, there is no advantage to hoarding goods. Nothing about it is going to require a hundred rolls of toilet paper or eighty pounds of rice. All that’s doing is depriving people who actually do need basic necessities, so as drastic as this might sound… Anyone who spent the week hoarding for doomsday should be encouraged to evaluate what they have, whether they REALLY need it, and take what they can back to the store. This probably doesn’t apply to most people reading this on tumblr but consider just getting the word out: there are people who need things and can’t get them right now because other people loaded up their cars with food and toiletries that serve them literally no purpose. The people most at risk of severe symptoms or even death obviously cross over a lot with families who had to spend all week working their asses off and now show up to empty grocery aisles. If you have multiple weeks worth of stuff in your house now, you have plenty you can stand to give back.
DO NOT TaKE It BACK TO THE STOre!!!!
Major chains (Walmart Canada, I can confirm) will just throw it out. Donate it!!!!

'Just had my day brightened up. Big Caribbean army bloke in front of me on the DLR knitting. Old lady turns to him and says “I didn't know men could knit”. He turns to her and in his best Caribbean accent says “No ma'am, the only thing men can't do is have babies. And there's nothing women can't do.” '

followers from europe, (are there any of you? i don't even know) phones. lets talk about them.
is texting usually included with plans? they only seem mention calling and data. does no one text or does everyone text and mentioning it seems crazy?
also, if i have a plan with vodafone spain, can i use it throughout europe, or will i have to keep getting new sims and numbers for each country i go to?
also banks. lets talk about those.
are there europe wide banks or are they usually localized to each country?
