“Ah...!“
Aya was used to seeing things and people she never even imagined before during her secluded stay in the mansion. It was part of what made sneaking out to the town so fun. But never once did she consider she’d see anything but other people and small critters out here, until she spotted a particular duck from a distance.
Was this normal? People didn’t seem to bat an eye to it, so it had to be, right? Just as curiosity drove Aya to go out of the mansion in the first place, so it did drive her to follow the individual at a steady pace.
Approaching without coming off as rude was priority: her mother had always warned her to be nice to strangers, even if she shouldn’t follow them on request or trust them without get to knowing them first.
So she spoke up innocently enough. A compliment should make it less awkward in the beginning, right? People liked compliments. At least Aya hoped so.
“Excuse me- err, sir?“
“That is... a nice coat! Good for the cold we’re having...“
