I love being autistic I listened to The Car 4 times today, I listen to the album in full AT LEAST once a month and have done ever since it came out, I love it. My favourite Arctic Monkeys album

The way Alex and Louise have been together for 7 years now and still don't live together is amusing to me, whatever works for them they seem happy... but it blows my mind.

Louise had more impact on The Car than you might think.

I used to see posts talking about how Louise doesn't have a love song for her, and how she must be "seething" at that. But I couldn't disagree more, just because the lyrics aren't spelling it out to you doesn't mean it isn't there.

As Alex Turner quoted Leon Russell in an interview "if my words don't come together listen to the melody, because my love is in there hiding."

But what was her actual impact? Without her The Car couldn't of sound the way it did, she introduced him to a lot of the music that influenced The Cars sound. One of many examples being this playlist. This music undeniably changed the sound of The Car, and without it we would have gotten a completely different album.

The fact that Alex Turner manages to hide away for months at a time and is ONLY seen when something is happening (photoshoot with Louise, with AM manager, award ceremony, leaving Sheffield) makes me question if he lives in a secret lair in the middle of nowhere and never goes out. He's so famous and yet almost never papped, makes me wonder if he's living rural.

when my card declines at therapy so they remind me how i’m witnessing alex fall deeper and deeper into the terrifyingly inevitable cage of his constant personas and watching as he loses his identity in years of pretending to a be person he’s isn’t all for the satisfaction of the public that continues to hold this warped perception of him so all he can do is try his best to fit into the confining mould that he made for himself but never thought would have its grip on him for the rest of his career as endless fans and obsessors fawned over a version of him that wasn’t even him in first place so the pressure of trying to become that impossibly perfect idol that everyone looked up to made him try and change himself to the point where people didn’t even like the new version of himself and all his efforts to please his fans were useless because deep down all he is and ever will be is human just like the rest of us

HOW DO WE KNOW THIS IS HIS SPOTIFY? In 2017 the account was titled SabreToothedTurner, at this time Matt Helders had his Spotify listening activity active, and people found Alex's account from him listening to his playlists, Alex changed the name to Evermont (the current playlist name) after people began to follow it.

In an interview where he was asked if Mr Schwartz has any relation to his playlist Del Schwartz (because of my analysis online 😁 shameless flex), he denied it and then a few minutes later followed it up with "and there was the playlist too... I mean I don't know anything about that!!!" He is a big LIAR! Lol.

No shade, the music on here is great and most of it have been on my own playlists for years, but not exactly fit for a party.

Tom Rowley's music sounds like Arctic Monkeys, and it always has.

If you haven't heard Tom Rowley's latest release, the instrumentation sounds exactly like something you'd hear straight out of The Car, and this is him cutting back on the Arctic Monkeys influence. If you're looking for music that sounds EXACTLY like early Arctic Monkeys without it actually being them, listen to Tom Rowley's band Dead Sons, the vocals were definitely an attempt at Alex Turners style, and the instrumentation too. This isn't a dig at him, it's great stuff.
