I'm sure you guys heard of the supposing reason on why Tord left Eddsworld. It is said that he left because of fangirls harassing him and stalking him. It is also said that he left due to ship art but I'm here to debunk that.

Keep in mind, I'm not saying that he wasn't harassed in the first place. I'm just here to debunk some parts of the rumor.

So, there's a lot of anti shippers in the Eddsworld fandom. Why? Because Tord APPRENTLY left because of TomTord. (No fuck it, they use that as a fucking excuse and a guilt trip for their toxic behavior tbh.) I'm here to debunk and tell ya'll why that's just plain ol' bullshit.

That's about it, pretty easy to debunk.

While it is true that he was harassed, that wasn't what made him leave. The harassment started after he left, if you pay attention to the hate groups and stuff, you can see that most of them were made about a month or year after he left. People were assholes to him though.

Fun fact: That's actually a friend of Edd! She's done a lot of gifts, commissions, and art trades for fangirls in the past!
Anyways, it is said that he left because of fangirls. That's not really true, he didn't have a lot of fangirls back then, Edd did. He did have them but all of the guys had them, he was a fan favorite for sure but compared to Edd, he didn't have that much fangirls. I couldn't find any screenshots or proof of him being stalked either. Also, if that's truly the reason why he left then why would Edd favorite fangirl ship art on his Deviantart?
..... Yeah, I don't think he would support a group that apprently made his friend left?? Also, yes I crossed out their names. I don't want them to get involved in this. Oh, and before you say "Oh that's just who he used to date!", I'm pretty sure he never had a realationship before. Plus, most of these OCs and fangirls were teenagers back then.
Anyways, this is about Tord. Not Edd, I was just using examples and evidence to somewhat back up my claims lol

Now to the final part: the REAL reason why he left!
The reason why he left was because of depression and mental issues. He also had a girlfriend who tried to CHEAT on him with Edd..... Don't worry, Edd refused btw

It is likely that he left to get help considering that he tried to kill himself once. Edd never mentioned any stalking, ships, or harassment. Tom did mentioned Tord being harassed but that video was made after Edd's death. Tord got harassed after his tribute video to Edd.
Why did I make this post? Because I find rumors like this to be very harmful to the person the rumor is about. Also, I have seen a lot of fankids and shippers being harassed, threaten, and having to feel like a peace of shit due to liking or shipping Tord and I don't like minors going through hell because of something that is basically a part of childhood. Hopefully this post doesn't cause any harm or drama but instead clearing some stuff out.
