Or have you forgotten that’s what I am?” It almost felt like her father in law was alive again, treating her like she was nothing but a glorified brood mare, or just some pretty ornament to keep around the palace. She was not having this.
He covered his face, trying to hide how this effected him. One of the reasons why he went to Tarrlok in the first place, was because how terrible she made him feel at times. “I’m sorry - I -”
“Can we sit down to discuss this.”
“I appreciate that.” Malina took a seat and looked at him expectantly. She didn’t mean to make him feel uncomfortable, she just… wanted him to treat her like he cared. Even a little.
“I am sorry. I never meant for this to spiral out of control.” He sat across from her, and avoided eye contact, looking down in defeatedly at the ground. “It started on accident, and i just kept coming back to him. The way he made me feel, Malina. The way he touched me, I - I felt nothing like it before.” He covered his face again, tears in his eyes, he tried to hide them to the best of his ability. He paused there for a while, breathing hard.
Malina stared down at her hands as she listened to his explanation. She really didn’t mind him going to other people for his needs, she just - she wished she’d known sooner. “And no one else knows about you two...?”
