Let me just say that it's kinda hilarious how whenever Craig Burnatowski was brought into discussion until recently it was always him getting compared with the previous Wesker VAs (specifically DC Douglas), and how his version of Wesker is "okayish" or "bland compared to the previous ones." But now with the SA allegations following all of the sudden those reactionary nerds are complaining about how "A woman is destroying a talented man's future the moment he finally gets famous."

So, Capcom needs to fire Craig Burnatowski, and maybe find a new guy, or even bring Peter Jessop back, who voiced Wesker in the HD remaster of RE1 from 2002. (Assuming he isn't a piece of human trash). In all seriousness, I hope Monica is safe, and she is in my thoughts ❤️

Man, I don’t even know what to say anymore. Seeing allegations come out about Craig Burnatowski is really depressing. I’m not going to pretend Twitter is a court of law, but I’m also not going to act like women talking about abusive or manipulative behavior is just “fandom drama” because it involves a video game voice actor. It’s especially exhausting because Wesker’s previous VA already had serious allegations around him, and now the current one has his own mess attached. I still love Wesker. I still love Resident Evil. The character is not the actor, and fans are not obligated to let some man’s behavior ruin a character they care about. But it is deeply gross to keep having this happen around a character/community people are attached to. I hope the people speaking up are safe. I hope fans don’t turn this into stan-war garbage. And I really, really hope people remember that “I like his performance” is not a moral defense of a real person.

every time i see someone accused of treating their partner horribly it just makes my stomach turn.

if even half of what's being described is true, that's heartbreaking. nobody deserves to be manipulated, controlled, or made to feel unsafe in a relationship. i hope the people who've shared their experiences have the support they need, and i hope anyone going through something similar knows they deserve so much better.

normalize holding people accountable for harmful behavior instead of making excuses for it.

resident evil allegedly has 4 core protagonists but the treatment for all of 4 them is so insanely warped. claire is basically forgotten now both in games and in merch. one of jill's core titles (re3) got a shitty half assed afterthought 4 hour long remake and she's constantly being put in weird sexual scenes. neither of them are allowed to age and they didnt even bother giving jill a unique DI look. I'm at my limit with this series and how it treats 2 women who are SUPPOSED to be as important as leon and chris (WHO GET EVERYTHING.)
