Hi, previous anon here. Thanks for your answer <3. I would also like to add that personally I'd prefer if in s5 zari 2.0 had no knowledge of zari 1.0. I would love to meet z2 first without the insecurites of another zari existing. z2 could be skeptical of behrad, followed him on the waverider on her own, stay for some reason (perhaps bc of the fiasco with her perfume), form relationships with ava, charlie and mick at first (as it happens on the show) and then focus on her drive to bring behrad back and all that and then near the end of s5, in the loom world episode she learns of the existence of another timeline and in s6 she has this journey to discover who she is and what is her place 8n the team now that the legends remember both zaris, and as you said they could explore her connection with the rest of the legends more. I think they brought the comparison of the two zaris too early (from the character perspective). Idk, I was just thinking this lately. Thanks again <333
These are all really good ideas!!! I wish could have a storyline like this but unfortunately one of the biggest cliff hangers for season 4 was when Zari 1.0 was going to return
Maybe my art goal for the year (we're over half way through lol) could be to learn a chibi style and make those acrylic keychains for my favorite characters
i love making friends in fandom, i love playing with our toys together, i love coming up with increasingly niche aus, i love lifting strangers up, i love motivating people to create, i love watching someone get excited over an idea and immediately running with it, i love yelling in tags together, i love seeing someone gain confidence in their writing/art because people were kind to them <33
I love both zaris, what's not to love? And I love the idea behind the timeline change. My complain is that both characters were sidelined for the sake of romances and it was such a waste of an opportunity to explore zari(s) inner self, the similarities and differences and how the environment they grew up in affected their character, relationships, perseption of the world etc. The timeline change and what the writers were trying to do would hit 1000 times harder then imo. Instead they changed between zaris in s6 for the sake of nate and John.

I'd say it's one part the legends writers hesitation to commit to zaris 1.0 season 5 ending. you can see they planned to keep her gone because they had her and nate break up and they wrote in a zarlie kiss but they changed their mind in season 6. Speculating that it was because zari 2.0 and John were already going to break up and they had no idea how to end Nates storyline so they brought her back. So it leaves both characters quite hollow in some ways, in later seasons because it ends up cutting into both of their screen times and arches they could accomplish.
The other part is that the legends writers weren't that good at writing romance and when they put characters into relationships that's the only story they seemed to give the characters after. So if you're writing something your not that great at for characters 80% of the time the characters suffer.
We get a bit of it with some characters like Ava, and Mick and showing how the dynamics are different between the two Zaris. But we also lose out some dynamics too with Sara, Behrad, Ray, Charlie etc.. why? Lose all of that nuance just to focus on romances no one really asked for? I'll never know
and lastly the writers didn't want to get deeper, they turned it into a crazy wacky show (which i don't mind much of the time) but it leaves them only tackling base level of characters when they could get deeper into it. And it effects the characters of colors because you lose a lot of nuances when you erase race completely from a character, we saw that slowly changing in season 7 and that's why it's one of my favorite seasons of the show. And hopefully it would have stayed that way if zari was the main focus of season 8.
Because zari(s) story is sad! One was a child at a young age and lost her family and friends because of it and repressed her feelings, then when she finally finds a place to belong its ripped from her because her brother is now alive. And she's always wanted that but it's also not her brother from her timeline and some part of her resents that and other zari for it
The other zari lost her childhood to Hollywood and fame, so much that the family she did it all for resents her for it! She doesn't know who she is with cameras and trying to be a star, the people around her that are her friends miss a ghost version of it! She believes she deserves nothing good!! She's insecure about other zari because she believes if she was more like her she would deserve more love
This is interesting!! Complex! And they just didn't explore it! But no we have to use both characters to show how sad nate/john are without their girlfriends

It's so obvious that they love each other. The way they talk about each other, even after Geto's betrayal and all the years that had passed since then, proves that. Gojo still knew the remnants of his cursed energy. Geto lost it when he thought Gojo had been killed. Plus Geto looked way to happy to be killed by Gojo. Kenjaku knew Gojo would pause merely at the sound of his voice and the sight of him. I feel like "but my heart and my soul knows otherwise!" speaks for itself. The chemistry they shared was so full of care. Their dynamic could be so much more interesting if they had been a couple.
Circling back to that "angel lose it's wings, every time someone comments about how they shouldn't have replaced Z1"
