Gulp!  The sweetness of the apple cider enjoyably coated her throat while the alcohol warmed her chest.  With a slow inhale, she took in the faint scent of the woman standing at the door.  It was a heady combination of perfume, shampoo and the apple cider she had just ingested.  It was pleasant to the senses and in no way overpowering.  She knew it was something she would not soon forget.

Emma set the glass down and got up quickly, curbing her thundering excitement.  She hoped that the kid’s mom meant what she thought she did.  This was certainly turning out to be one of the most intriguing birthdays she had ever had.

So... I waited such a long time to post this. I can’t help but shake my head at how I’m such a coward. Anyway, a few days before this event, Shadows of Grand Chase received an update from one of our own. Slippy, as I’d like to call her online, will be leaving for another country after a week. I already knew this even before she announced it to our group. She said she forgot to inform the others as it was another member’s birthday before the announcement. Though happy that she gets to pursue her dream of working in that country, I can’t help but feel so detached. We used to talk about mundane things. I used to bother her during college. She used to ask help with some of her projects. We used to play together in Grand Chase. I guess work, a certain someone, and priorities got in the way.

So anyway, being the clingy kid that I am, I asked her to go out with me. As in a date. I didn’t know exactly when she will leave before she told our group. I had it all planned out in my mind. Learn how to drive. Know how to go to Liliw. I wanted to take her there on a date. But I guess fate wasn’t with me. So instead I invited her for lunch out in Shangri-La. It was still enjoyable despite my failed attempt at a date. If ever you happen upon this, I must apologize for my stiffness. And thank you for giving me time despite your busy schedule. :)

Survive to Kill, a Heroes of the Storm Guide to Illidan.

Hi, my name is Lion, casual HOTS gamer and occasional splurge if I see something I like. *cough*skins*cough*. I've just recently played HOTS in America but mainly in Asia. I do not have competitive gameplay experience as I have no plans on going pro but I've been around enough to know the pros and cons of this hero. Illidan Stormrage. Anything with him, I am eager play. World of Warcraft, albeit private server. Hearthstone. And now Heroes of the Storm. During it's Beta launch back in June 2015, I've been playing this hero the same way I play most of my WoW toons, tanky.

I'm assuming, since you're reading this guide, you at least know how Illidan is played. I cannot express my frustration with my first game using the demon hunter for being so squishy. I had to resort to this guide for reference. I eventually had it pat down and tweaked the talents a bit to fit my play style. And that worked until recently. Due to the MASSIVE talent tree change Blizzard did to my favorite Heroes of the Storm character, I decided to do my own build based on my own play style. This build was formed to focus on defensive play style while weaving in and out of battles along with the occasional duel. What does it mean exactly? High mobility, sustained health, and damage mitigation. Think about it, what's the use of an Assassin if he's dead?

Unending Hatred - This is essentially his replacement to a previous starting talent, Seasoned Marksman. Immolation was what I had chosen in the old build for the Tier 2 talent but for mid game and near end game, it doesn't do much damage for me except clear mobs. I did try the other talent, Battered Assault, and it was ungodly when fighting clumps of heroes. I favored Unending Hatred for the most part since it gave me additional attack bonus without a specific condition.

Friend or Foe - Though Rapid Chase looks more viable for, well, chasing down enemy heroes, the movement speed is not really a big deal for me. Illidan was already built for high mobility. Unbound is perfect for those who have the knack of running away after sniping. Friend or Foe fits with my build since it works for both offense and defense.

Hunter's Onslaught / Reflexive Block - While other people opt for Thirsting Blade, it contains a condition that Sweeping Strike's damage bonus needs to be active. Yes, Illidan can easily reset cooldowns due to his talent. Yes, this actually benefits Illidan a lot for team fights. But if you can either mitigate the damage or get some health back with your abilities, why not? This build's choice relies on auto attack both done by and against Illidan. Reflexive Block is great when you have enemy heroes who rely on basic attacks. Damage reduction means less health lost and therefore means you can easily cap your health to max. Hunter's Onslaught focuses more on the aggressive gameplay of Illidan and relies on basic attacks to reset his cooldowns and keep his health intact.

The Hunt / Metamorphosis - Honestly, this is a no-brained for me. Over the past few months, Blizzard has continually nerfed Meta and even moreso now that the attack speed bonus is gone. However, for the sake of some players, I will still include this as a viable option. Meta lets you look badass, I cannot deny that. It's uses, however, are not geared for hero killing as what this build focuses on. The Hunt, now that's the fun part. With a default range of roughly one-third of the entire map, it's like every enemy heroes needs to put you down as soon as possible. I mentioned before that Illidan is a highly mobile hero. Well, this takes the cake. If Illidan is too far away to block an enemy's retreat, then this will surely make it a kill.

Sixth Sense / Nimble Defender - Elusive Strike almost made it to this build but alas, "every time Sweeping Strike damages an enemy hero". Granted, Nimble Defender works the same but I've already mentioned that I'm vying for mobility plus survivability. Nimble Defender and Sixth Sense do a great job of reducing damage taken which can make you kill more during team clashes.

Marked for Death / Fiery Brand / Blades of Azzinoth - This is probably the only tier that I considered all talents viable. Marked for Death is great for chasing down enemies while The Hunt is still on cooldown. Granted, this is your prime chasing skill if you picked up Friend or Foe earlier. This basically sets you up for blocking the enemy path and making damn sure that they'll merely watch as you break forts and other enemy heroes. Fiery Brand is essentially equivalent to Giant Killer in a way that you'll want this talent when you find yourself constantly facing off warriors. Illidan is a great duelist with this talent. Blades of Azzinoth deserves points for having such a badass name. Though not my first pick, this is extremely useful for bursts.

Nexus Blades / Bolt of the Storm - One might be wondering why I did not pick Nowhere to Hide since I've been playing up The Hunt and mobility throughout this build. Well... I'm 50/50 about it being a waste of talent choice. Yes, I can immediately join the fray after I've resurrected but what if I didn't even die? I wouldn't want to waste The Hunt if I want to escape from the team fight. There's Bolt of the Storm for a reason. Bolt is more logical given the nature of Illidan's trait. I could essentially Sweep a wave of mobs and recover part of my health then be ready to face off heroes again. Which brings me to my prime pick. Nexus Blades is the icing on the cake. Slowing a hero for 1 second might not be much but do remember who the hero is. More damage equals more health. More health equals more time to kill heroes. Survive to kill!

And that's that! This is just a rough overview of his new talents. Feel free to play Illidan in your own way and experiment with the talent tiers. I'm pretty sure a lot of people opt for the aggressive gameplay for Illidan and I don't undermine them for it as long as they do a good job. Cheers!

This was the day. After such a long hype. After patiently waiting for this day. AFTER. ONE. AGONIZING. WEEK. WE FINALLY WATCHED DEADPOOL!!! And by we, I mean my close friends. To be fair, we usually watch movies on it’s first week of screening. Deadpool was an exception due to the release date. Fucking hell valentine’s day my ass. 

My mameh had warned me that it was a ‘meh’ film. I had realized in the first few minutes of the movie that I wasn’t looking for a good storyline, only good comic relief. Anyway, it was worth it. And I wouldn’t mind watching it again with my brother. Rest assured, there will be no spoilers posted in this simulation.

Right after the movie, my friends and I looked for something to eat. One of my friends spotted the okonomiyaki restaurant nearby. I’ve seen a few people try this out before and was worried we’d have to wait more than 30 minutes in line just to get seated. Lo and behold, there weren’t many people eating there during lunch. Though I would bet a lot would be there for dinner.

It gave off the traditional Japanese vibe and we were lucky to get a table in the tatami mat-like area. This would actually be my first time eating okonomiyaki. I led a sad life indeed. We had absolutely no idea what to order, big mistake. So we first settled with gyoza [who doesn’t like gyoza?] and went with what seems to be their best seller, Hiroshimayaki. Cue my best friend joking about the name. The dish itself is not a joke though. I’m pretty sure I’ll be returning to this restaurant some time in the future... Once I have somebody to bring *wink*.
