So, I decided it was about time to begin writing this beware. I thought about it for a long time, and I think itâs about time this has happened.Â
I donât have very many screenshots to prove anything, but people whoâve been in the same situation can back me up with their own proof. No doubt about it.Â
First of all, the beware is about Joey Strutton/Elliot Cottrill/Karrev/superdoq/shibe-bites/esklar./midcoastmascots/nysing, who has already had //more// than enough bewares. But none of the bewares about him really explain anything heâs done.Â
I used to be very close to Elliot, in fact. Me, My boyfriend, and Elliot used to be the best of friends. And so Iâll start at the beginning.Â
Back in October my boyfriend commissioned Karrev/Superdoq/Joey for a cheap reference sheet. It was added to the to-do list, and then the journal offering them was deleted.Â
Before that however, Joey made a journal asking people to buy him The Sims 4, and in return he would do a ton of art for it. We were not friends at the time. He was just an artist I wanted to commission. So I bought the game, and sent him the requests I had.Â
We started to become friends in late September. He had only done 2 of the requests I had asked for. But he drew us several gifts while we were becoming friends. He then began to tell us how stressed he felt because his Queue was so long, and how anxious he got when he took any kind of commissions. So I told him he could hide my stuff, and just do those things as gifts when he drew for me. Assuming he would actually do them.
To this day he was not refunded me a penny for that game, nor drawn the requests that I had sent him.Â
As for the reference sheet that my boyfriend bought; It took him until May 21st to refund us. Prior to the refund he kept stating he âdoes NOT do refundsâ. So we were shit out of luck since he took longer than 180 days to do the art.

We commissioned him October 27th for both suits. My boyfriend sent him $100 for a suit of his character Kyle, and I sent him $200 for my fursona Cross. He told us it would be done by Christmas. That came and gone, and nothing happened. Then he told us he would finish them both by TFF which was February 23rd. As you can guess, nothing came from it.Â
He THEN told us it would be completed before he moved. Which I believe was sometime in March. Again, nothing came from it.Â
Finally, since our friendship was beginning to become very strained, I asked for a refund, in which he promptly replied that he does NOT do refunds for anything. Which rightfully angered me. He had sent us WIPâs of the suits, but every time he promised them by a certain date, he would just not do them. At all.Â
I threatened to sue him, in which he attempted to tell me that he would win the case since his un-published TOS stated that he didnât do refunds. Which; was a blatent fib. He has never published his TOS, and he has never gotten it certified. Therefor he cannot win a court case with that logic. I called paypal, hoping they would be able to do something about the theft. They put a flag on his account to let them know he was a scammer, and if they got anymore reports, they would close down the account. I did not report him yet for being underage and having a paypal, but itâs getting to the point where I almost want to so that others will not be scammed.Â

He has scammed multiple other people, on top of myself and my boyfriend. I will link their bewares below!Â
Onto his actual behavior now.Â
I cannot begin to explain how abusive the friendship turned out to be.Â
He used to be very kind and friendly, and he did a lot to help us the first few months of being friends. He helped us raise money to pay bills and everything. I donât know what happened to change his attitude towards us.Â
He would guilt us into calling him or drawing for him. And anytime we grew closer to another friend, he would throw a fit, and fight with us and tell us we were âreplacingâ him.Â
I started to resent him, but we were trapped in the friendship because we KNEW we would never see the money or our fursuits if we left him.Â
He would fight with us, and then pretend that nothing happened the next day.Â
He would ask us to talk to him if he did something to bother him, and when we would, he would lash out, and say âfuck youâ and all kinds of insulting words to us. Simply for telling him that something he did upset us. Â
He constantly lied. There were so many lies, that Iâm not sure which was a lie, and which was a truth.Â
He would tell people he was 23 in college, when heâs really 16 getting ready for college this fall.Â
He would take commissions, promising a turn around time of the same or next day. And then not do them for months.Â
He changed the way he worked on commissions as well. He did chibis, icons, sketches, and flats ALL before he did reference sheets. And instead of finishing everything for the people who HAD been waiting MONTHS, he would constantly push them to the bottom of the Queue by taking on more icons and chibis. He owed my boyfriend a reference from October, and Tucker was at the bottom of his Queue ever since he bought the ref. Every time Tucker or I brought it up, we would get attacked.Â
Elliot/Joey used to tell us constantly that we had an attitude, and he would berate us as if he were our parent. And it began rubbing me the wrong way. He told me the other day that I had an attitude, and that I was being âsaltyâ and I had done nothing to him. I hadnât messaged him, or anything of the sort. He accused me of making a journal about him, when I didnât.Â
We tolerated WAY too many accusations from him, as well as the lies, and mental abuse he put on us. He would talk shit behind our backs, and complain about us for ânot talking to himâ when he never attempted to talk to us unless he needed something.Â
He would call us hypocrites because we let someone back in our life that was really important. He would belittle our problems, and tell us that his problems were bigger than ours.Â
We lost a really close friend, and our roommate moved out and caused a fuss, and it was a bad time. And we were upset about it for a couple weeks, after I came to him to talk about why I was upset (he was previously upset because none of us wanted to talk to him), he told me that he was sick of hearing about it, and that weâd been upset about the same thing for 3 days in a row, and he was bored of it. And proceeded to tell us that losing our friend wasnât nearly as bad as him losing his friend MONTHS ago.Â
He told us at least 3 times about how he wrecked a car, or got molested at school, and various other things that made no sense to any of us.Â

He would also comment on statuses on facebook that didnât include him. I was going through a rough time, and said âthank you to those who I can really rely on and trustâ and I tagged the people who I was on great terms with to show my appreciation. And he had commented on it saying âohâ just to make me feel bad or make them feel bad.Â
