The tendency towards monopoly under capitalism nixes any potential benefit variety and “market competition” could have, and it’s hilarious to me that pro-capitalists A) still believe market competition exists or offers tangibly meaningful alternatives (as opposed to rampant trend-following), B) that it existing, hypothetically, is some amazing “gotcha” that proves the superiority of capitalism without any regard for the (human, resource, environmental) cost at which this variety is produced.
