“‘Figment Of My Mind’ is a true story about a journey I took on a sofa in Los Angeles, that I consider to be one of the most formative experiences of my life. I travelled to a different dimension, one more real than the ostensible reality presented to us on a daily basis. There, amongst impossible transcendent beauty, I was greeted by a female deity, who showed me the power and majesty of the universe and my own mind, which of course are one and the same thing. Since this moment that simultaneously lasted forever and no time at all, I no longer fear death, and my life path is clear. Although there is no hope of describing what I saw that day in so inadequate a medium as the written word, there is a depth and spirituality to music that can take me a little closer. If only you see what I could see. 💜💜”

“The only way for me to remain healthy creatively and mentally as an artist is to define “success” as: ‘having created art I am proud of.’ As soon as I worry about what people think of my music, or how many streams it got this week, I’m compromising what is most important ~ honesty. That said, I’d be lying if I pretended I wasn’t enjoying your reaction to ‘The Most Beautiful Thing.’ It was successful in my eyes the moment I sent the final master off into the ether, but that it has brought you joy, brings me joy also. “Whilst working out in the park, worrying about myself and my career as I often do, I stopped for a time and regarded this tree. I thought of nothing at all, except for how perfect and beautiful it was. I can’t remember the last time, if ever, I sat and stared at a tree and was struck by its beauty. There are lessons to be learnt, amongst the peculiarity. 🌿🍃🌾”
