culturenlifestyle:
Janiana Mello and Daniel Landini of Mello + Landini are SĆ£o Paulo-based artists responsible for rope installations on the walls of many galleries. Symbolic and beautiful in nature, the untwisted ropes mimic the shape of tree branches sprouting and artistically covering the walls.Ā

Pete Fecteau spent 40 hours configuring a monumental mosaic of Martin Luther King Jr. made entirely out of Rubikās Cubes calledĀ Dream Big. With a computer generated draft as his blueprint, the determined creator used 4,242 Rubikās Cubes to construct the 18ā 6ā x 9ā 8ā piece that, once completed, weighed about half a ton.
Dream BigĀ has marked a turning point in Fecteauās artistic career, garnering him much attention. Interestingly, as a designer by day, Fecteau never saw the Rubikās Cube mosaic as a ācareer move,ā it was just a ācrazy ideaā he could not ignore. āItās been a weird project,ā he told us. āThere were many times where Iād want to give up and then the next day Iād get a call that forced me back on the horse. I kind of feel like it was willing itself to be made. I canāt say Iām surprised by the attention. When I first looked at the finished product I was in as much awe as everyone else. Iām very happy to have this make people think about whatās possible.ā
