[NEWS] 130607 Block B’s Official Statement, “We have no intention of reuniting with Stardom… Preparing for independent activities”
This is the official statement of the 7-members of Block B.
First of all, we would like to say that we are very sorry for making the many fans who love and care for Block B to worry.
The intent of decision made by the court today can be construed as an order to comply with the official verdict, which came to be by going through the additional battles and hearings of the lawsuit proceeding on merits, rather than making a clearly conclusive verdict on the legitimacy of the cancellation even though the truth about the omission of approximately 430,000,000 KRW of music revenue from event earnings was acknowledged.
For example, in the judgment, even though the management contract with Japan’s Bauhaus was submitted, it mistakenly states that it is difficult to judge the violation of duty because the contract was not submitted. Also it states that different from the precedence of existing royalty prepayments, it is difficult to conclude that the 1,400,000,000 KRW of royalties received in advance by Loen Entertainment should be revenue distributed to Block B. There are many verdicts such as these that are difficult for the members to accept. Regarding this lawsuit, we will calmly contest and receive verification on the legitimacy of the contract suspension, and will ask Stardom to take responsibility for defaulting on payments and violating the exclusive contract.
Additionally, a verdict was made that “There is a possibility that the legitimacy of the independent entertainment activities presently performed by the applicants (Block B members) at the same time as the dispute of the exclusive contract suspension will be inspected at a later time.”This is because if [Stardom] stops the Block B members from their independent entertainment activities, they are encroaching on the constitutional freedom of work and the general right to freedom of action.
As the Block B members have no intention of reuniting with Stardom for their entertainment activities, they will prepare for independent activities. If the result of the lawsuit does not acknowledge the legitimacy of the contract suspension, we will owe proper liability for damage.
Once again we would like to apologize to all the fans for making them worry. The Block B members promise to show a more mature image from now on, and repay the love and interest given to them by fans.
