Hello. I was wondering, what are the best AU Samifer fics out there? Is there a masterlist or something I could consult?
From my observations the most well known Samifer fic is The Fourth Wall. This seems to be the gateway fic to samifer for a lot of people. After this The Courtship of Sam Winchester is very popular.
Here is a rec list by holydread on lj which contains a lot of the older fics (well known and not).
Here is a post in the spn_rarepair community for samifer.
All of these recs are for the most part pretty old and mostly feature fics on lj. To my knowledge there hasn't been a fic rec list of fics made recently.
Hey there I'm looking for a fic, maybe you can help me? It's Samifer, and in it they're doing breathplay. It mentions Lucifer really enjoys it bc in those moments he actually feels like an angel again. Any help would be greatly appreciated
The fic is by fuckyeahlucifersupernatural and it's here.

Summary: Sam has a surprise for Luc, on his birthday.
Months ago, Luc had brought up his wish of seeing Sam in something a little lacy, a little risqué. Sam had been distinctly uncomfortable with the idea, so Luc had let it drop. He’d never expected this.
Prompt(s) Used: "End!Verse", with a partial dash of "Lucifer coming back, but having to find a new body like every night (but it’s easy because hey, satanists are very willing to let him use theirs). Sam doesn’t approve."
Rated: T - For adult and dark themes
Spoilers: 5.04 “The End”.

Sam rolled his shoulders as he slowly became used to controlling his own body again. He would never get used to Lucifer going in and out of him like a suit. However, he would just have to deal until Lucifer was able to figure out how to create a new, completely compatible vessel. Gabriel was able to do it, so they both knew it was possible.
“I’m sorry for keeping you under longer than usual this time,” Lucifer rasped before starting a coughing fit. Sam frowned at the occurrence, looking Lucifer’s latest throw-away vessel up and down. The man had obviously been a heavy smoker, which probably got worse after the Apocalypse occurred. Compatible vessels, even short term ones, were getting harder and harder to find thanks to the Croatoan Virus. That the man’s physical ailments were affecting Lucifer wasn’t a good sign, either. Lucifer was connecting with his vessels too much. It was to make Sam happy because Lucifer would be able to properly react to physical affection if he were connected to his vessels, but it took quite a lot out of Lucifer every time.
“It’s okay. Gonna give me a hint this time?” Sam glanced down at the brilliant white suit Lucifer had put him in.
“No…” Lucifer trailed off as he headed out the door. Sam sighed, deciding it was better to follow than to let Lucifer brood. The archangel never told Sam his reasoning for each time Sam was cut off from observing what Lucifer did with his body. That wasn’t going to change, but Sam had to ask out of habit. Lucifer’s terse reply this time, though, made Sam think it would be worth pushing his archangel a bit more.
“What’s with the suit?” Sam asked, slipping the coat off and tossing it onto a nearby chair.
“Business. White is considered the color of light, is it not? Well, I am still the brightest angel in existence,” Lucifer explained. “It seemed logical to go with a white suit over a black one.”
“Ah,” Sam said. He crossed the library to grab his latest resource books off a shelf, bringing them to the large table in the center of the room that acted as their research hub. All the surrounding tables were covered in sheets of notes, various books, and small items that came from their work in finding a way for Lucifer to create a new vessel. Research was all he did lately around the times Lucifer needed to use him. Sam couldn’t think of anything else he could do to help.
Lucifer’s head bobbed forward until his forehead smacked the table, which caused him to jolt back upright. Yet another ailment from his current vessel – chronic fatigue. If Sam didn’t know any better, he would say that his archangel was a sleep-deprived college student studying for finals. The sounds of screaming coming through the walls from outside ruined that mental image. Letting out another sigh, Sam moved to stand behind Lucifer’s chair and slowly closed the book Lucifer was reading. It occurred without any argument, so Sam knew he was right in interrupting their research right now.
“Luce, what happened?”
“Dean’s dead,” was returned in monotone. Sam had to do a double-take at the announcement. He was glad that Lucifer wasn’t looking at him because few things surprised Sam nowadays. Lucifer bringing up Dean was the last thing Sam expected. Sam pushed on, though.
“Finding out that Dean is dead wouldn’t cause your current mood, Lucifer. What happened?” Sam repeated.
“He forced my hand,” Lucifer said, leaving it without much context. However, it was all the context Sam needed. Lucifer had killed Dean. To be honest, Sam was not surprised at all. Sam knew that the only thing that could possibly kill Dean would either be an archangel or Dean, himself. Dean was that stubborn.
“Are you expecting me to explode at you? Call you names? Spew insults?” Sam asked. “I can do that if you wish, but I really would rather not to. You’re in a delicate condition as it is thanks to your latest vessel. I…”
“What?” Lucifer turned in his seat to give Sam an incredulous look. “Sam, I killed your brother.”
“And Michael killed my other brother. You don’t see me knocking down Heaven’s Gate to get at Michael.”
“But this was Dean,” Lucifer continued, as if it made a difference. And it should have, but Sam had accepted long ago that the Dean he cared about no longer existed. The man Lucifer killed was not the brother Sam knew.
“I learned to accept this eventuality a long time ago, Lucifer,” Sam said as he pulled out a chair to sit next to his archangel. “It’s been too long. Dean wasn’t the Dean I remember, just as I’m sure I’m not the Sam he would have remembered. I’m sad that he’s dead, but I couldn’t prevent it. All I can do it focus on the loved one in front of me who is dying from the inside-out because he lacks a truly compatible vessel outside of me. Now, back to work. Call it a gut feeling, but I think we’ll find something today.”
Lucifer let out a snort, earning a kiss to the forehead from Sam. Lucifer didn’t have much enthusiasm or optimism lately, and for good reason, but Sam had more than enough for the both of them until they succeeded. Deciding to let Lucifer mull over his reaction, Sam wandered out to grab something to eat from the kitchen.
Returning with his sandwich and bottle of beer, Sam kicked off the shoes Lucifer had picked out and let them fly in different directions without care. If Lucifer truly wanted him to take care of the things, then Lucifer would have taken them off before giving control back to Sam.
“Luce, I’ve been thinking…” Sam announced, sitting across the table from Lucifer so his food wouldn’t get on any of their materials.
“Must’ve hurt,” Lucifer muttered under his breath. Sam took a moment to gape at Lucifer, surprised that he managed to teach such human mannerisms to the archangel, before grinning and continuing on without comment.
“What do we know of Gabriel’s vessel?” Lucifer looked up from his collection of notes to give Sam a confused look.
“What?
“Gabriel’s vessel,” Sam repeated. “What do we know about it?”
“The vessel was connected to the Iscariot bloodline – the bloodline connected to Gabriel’s Grace,” Lucifer replied. “Not much else.”
“Irony of Gabriel having been able to use Judas as a vessel aside, how is that significant? Why would Gabriel use a vessel from his earthly bloodline if he wanted to enter the angelic equivalent of witness protection?” Sam continued. He needed Lucifer to answer his questions before he could seriously consider the thought that had popped up in his head.
“For the compatibility. Heaven would have noticed if vessels were being burned up left and right. Gabriel needed someone who would last long term. Someone from his bloodline was the only option. It wasn’t his True Vessel, but any member of the bloodline would have worked.”
“Know of any members of the Iscariot line who went missing?”
“None,” Lucifer answered, giving Sam a significant look. He was beginning to guess where this was going.
“Know that for sure?”
“Sam, what are you thinking?” Lucifer cut to the chase.
“How do you know for sure that Gabriel didn’t bring back a deceased member of the Iscariot family like Michael did with Adam?” Sam pushed his plate aside. “If he was sure he was going to be given permission, isn’t it possible that Gabriel brought someone back he knew he was compatible with? Rebuilt the body before returning the soul?”
“True,” Lucifer admitted. “It’s entirely possible Gabriel went that route. A single soul would be easily missed from Heaven, and the Host wouldn’t think to look at his former compatible vessels when they began looking for him. What does this have to do with me? Why did you even begin thinking about that?”
“Cas literally dragged Dean out of Hell because Michael needed him as a vessel for the Apocalypse. That’s how I got to thinking about it,” Sam said.
“You still haven’t answered my question about how this deals with me. Dean is Michael’s True Vessel. In case you have forgotten, you are that for me,” Lucifer pointed out dryly.
“It would be safe to assume that Gabriel’s vessel wasn’t his true vessel. Why didn’t he burn the man out?” Sam diverted. He gave Lucifer a smile, hoping his archangel would trust him and continue to play along. Lucifer gave Sam a look, but didn’t protest. He knew he would always give Sam what Sam wanted.
“It’s possible to maintain a vessel without burning them out, depending on how long the angel intends to use them and for what purposes. Gabriel needed his vessel for the long term hiding, so he would have dedicated a portion of his Grace towards maintaining said vessel.”
“Could you do that now?” Sam asked, not sure he wanted an honest answer. Lucifer’s Grace, while still powerful than any mere angel, was being weakened by his continued use of inferior vessels that fit him like a square peg in a round hole.
“I would need to return to my full strength before I could attempt anything like that. It would mean inhabiting you for an extended period of time, Sam. We haven’t gone longer than a week since Detroit. For how exhausted I feel, I would need at least a month. However, because this isn’t exactly the most viable option for me, it’s moot,” Lucifer said.
“It is viable for you, Luce,” Sam insisted.
“Sam, not a single member of the Campbell family is going to say yes to me. Not to mention I’m sure it would be all kinds of awkward for you to kiss a member of your own family.”
“I’m not talking about a member of the Campbell family.”
“Then who?”
“Nick,” Sam breathed, reminding Lucifer of the vessel he had used before Sam had said yes. “Nick had said yes and didn’t recant it, correct?”
“You want me to resurrect Nick just to ask him to use him as a vessel again?” Lucifer asked with a surprised look. “Didn’t the man suffer enough, Sam?”
“But you should be able to burn him out and send him right back to Heaven once you’re inside his body, shouldn’t you? Cas has done similar with Jimmy Novak,” Sam pushed. Nick was a valid option for Lucifer to have a compatible vessel that wouldn’t break down and cause issues. With the Apocalypse done and over with, Lucifer could easily return to Nick without having to worry about Michael.
“Yes…” Lucifer let out as if it were painful for him to admit it. “Nick’s in Heaven, though. How do you suggest I speak with him?”
“Resurrect him first, then do the talking. That’s your only option, short of asking one of your many siblings to go speak with him on your behalf.”
“None of my brothers or sisters are going to do that for me.”
“Exactly. So, you’re going to resurrect Nick and speak with him about this, right?” Sam badgered.
“Okay,” Lucifer gave in. It was obvious that Sam was going to go with this idea, with or without Lucifer’s immediate participation. “Let’s bring back Nick and have a talk.”
“Good,” Sam grinned. “Now, start looking for resurrection materials. If you’re not strong enough to maintain a vessel, then you shouldn’t be using your powers to bring Nick back.”
“Yes, mother,” Lucifer snarked as he began collecting all the papers that had been splayed out in front of him. Sam gave Lucifer a kissy face because he was too far away to give Lucifer an actual kiss, which earned Sam a balled up paper to the face. Laughing, Sam threw it back.
Sam was sure Nick was going to say yes again. He was going to insist that he have some time to speak with Nick, as well, and Sam was sure he could convince Nick to say yes again if Nick needed convincing. He would bet every ounce of love he felt for Lucifer that he could get Nick to say yes again. Because Sam wasn’t going to watch Lucifer slowly die right in front of him because Lucifer refused to use him as a permanent vessel. He just wasn’t.
Excited to finally have come up with an option, Sam stood up and strode around the table to pull Lucifer up as well. Ignoring the irritated look Lucifer was giving him for interrupting research again, Sam dragged Lucifer out of the library and towards their bedroom. Resurrection materials would be easy enough to find. It could wait until the next morning.
Faced with the realisation that his youngest child had developed an imaginary friend, John Winchester did what any loving, caring father would do. He put salt lines around the boy's bedroom, sang an exorcism as a lullaby that night, emptied a flask of holy water into the bathtub, and tested Sam with the silver spoon he'd had for his christening from an old relative of Mary's he could no longer remember the name of. All to no effect.
(Sam's got an "imaginary friend". John remains unconvinced).
When is the next samifer fan exchange? I just noticed it yesterday. It's too late, past sign ups. Will there be another in a while?
Honestly, unless there is a lot of unsolicited interest, there will not be another FYSL Exchange. We had very low turn out for this one, and the main admin hasn't been in the fandom for quite a while.
Hi - i'm super confused. I'd like to sign up but i don't quite understand what it is i have to do. Do i sign up and receive a prompt to write? And then what?
Verbaitum from the Rules/Guidelines/etc:
HOW IT WORKS:
Read these rules/guidelines/etc.
Fill out the sign-up form here. Make sure you correctly fill in all the required parts.
Send a message to FYSL here (this is to aid in getting everyone their assignments once the sign-ups end).
Spread the word if you would like by reblogging the announcement post or putting any of these buttons on your blog!
Once sign-ups close, the admin replies to the message you sent in step 3 with someone else’s prompts. Someone else receives yours.
You create 1 fan work (of any sort you would like) inspired by one (or more) of the prompts your received, avoiding putting anything your prompter requested to be avoided in the work and meeting the guidelines listed below.
You submit that work to FYSL once it is done, preferably before the work deadline.
Everyone’s works go up over the course of a week or two and the world is filled with Sam/Lucifer goodness!
Hey are the guidelines for the exchange on the 19th gonna be the same as last? Sorry if typing is bad, on mobile.
Yep! As always we'll post the condensed version of the rules and link to the full guidelines when sign ups open on the 19th, but they are identical to the ones used this spring from Hotter Than Hell 2014
