The evil is defeated
If my knowledge serves me correct, these are the five Black players (including bi-racial) that have played for the Sharks throughout the franchise’s history.
Dale Craigwell (photo from x )
Mike McHugh (photo from x )
Mike Grier (photo from x )
Jamal Mayers (photo from x )
Derek Joslin (photo from x )
Mike Grier and Mike McHugh I believe are the only African-Americans to play for the Sharks.
Craigwell, Mayers, and Joslin are African-Canadian.
In comparison to other NHL teams, the Sharks are around the middle when it comes to how many Black players they have had.
The Edmonton Oilers with 12 players throughout their franchise history sit at the top of this list. While the Ottawa Senators sit at the bottom with only two players in their history. (x)
In comparison to the other major sports leagues, the number of Black players is incredibly minuscule..but like anything..it’ll take time and a few generations being told and shown that they can be hockey players before better representation will start to show.
The last one
Well the Sharks are eliminated yet again. This time, it's about as disappointing as it gets. Call me overly negative, but I don't see too much positive. Sharks had a "strangle hold" on the series, and let go.
They let the Kings take the series from right under them, and once again..on the wrong side of history. Like Randy, or Drew, whoever said it..this one will sting for a long time. This one will sting until the Sharks finally break this awful cycle of disappointment and get to the finals.
Usually this is where I'd go into, "we're still proud of" or however I ended my posts the last few years here..but I don't feel proud of any this. I know I'm not speaking for myself, this is the most disappointment I have ever seen in this fan base, and I don't think I worded that right..I guess saying everyone is a lot more angrier and bitter about this one than other eliminations and they all have every right to be bitter and disappointed.
Will I still support the team? Of Course. And I know for some, supporting and cheering for a teams means you're not allowed to be "mean" to the team, but I don't think criticism or frustration is mean..it is criticism and frustration.
Maybe it's because I've watched this team since I was 4 years old or so, that I'm so critical with the Sharks, or any team I watch for that matter. But this isn't about me.
So, Sharks, regular season was up and down, and playoffs ended on the sourest note you could hit.
No Cup this year, no celebrations. Time away from hockey might actually be healthy for a lot of us, but that's up to you to decide. I've really got nothing else. So, please try not to be idiots and go argue with opposing fans that are in tags, or other social media sites, because it doesn't change a thing.
This is probably the last time I'll post here, mainly because I just don't write like i used to, when Emilia first brought me on I did pretty decent commentary and recaps and other things, at least I think so. But as the bitterness has grown, it's beginning to show in my tone and usually I wouldn't care, but I'd rather people come here and be able to somewhat enjoy the content. With that, thank you everyone that's supported Emilia and I on the blog, especially those of you that have put up with me and my nonsense, I promise that I'm not this bad in person. Thank you for supporting us, and showing your love for the team, sharing your moments of joy and frustration.
Take care of yourselves, take care of each other. I will be back in the arena opening day next season, hopeful for something. Because that's the way she goes. It sucks now to eliminated, and it will suck then. But when it comes down to it, this damned sport will pull me right back.
So, Sharks. Do what you gotta do, and look back on this and be angry and disappointed. Use it to fuel you. Take care, folks.

"This is a playoff celebration"
What rat bastard would allow this commercial to air just seconds after the Sharks are eliminated.
I’ve got nothing but time to make these; my team’s been out for a while now.
There it is
Ugh. The amount of "wrong side" of history moments the Sharks have been on.
And the kings get an empty netter
4-1 kings.
And that, unless the Sharks pull off a more spectacular comeback than the kings did in this series, will do it.
Looks like Niemi is already pulled
2:35 left
Flashback to end of the regular season 2004.
Sharks down 3-1 to kings with like 30 seconds left. End of regulation, score is 3-3 End of OT Sharks win.
I'm hoping the Sharks can do something like that
Sharks create open lanes...and don't shoot
How many power plays can you ask for, boys?
If you score on half of them, you're in this game.
So the Avs just got knocked out
The western side of the playoffs have been filled with collapse
Again
Pucks just right there for the Sharks, and Sharks not there
And again, nothing coming from this power play
Another Sharks power play
Pavelski had a chance, and instead of taking shot, held on and let the kings take a 3-1 lead
"hey fuckyeahsjsharks where’s your unfollow button?…"
You can never leave.
