When would-be robbers armed with a sword storm a Pittsburgh convenience store, the cashier pulls a sword of his own.
Hometown hero Meghan Klingenberg celebrated her goal in Pittsburgh in the best way possible.
Never ever change, Kling 😃 🇺🇸
Pittsburgh forever
I don’t understand the USA, all your roads are straight and all your cities look like they were planned using Excel.
Everyone knows the only way to build a city is to wait until a bunch of tiny villages merge together over centuries and create a sprawling clusterfuck of winding roads that make no sense and have no street signs and are impossible to navigate unless you’ve lived there all your life.
let me tell you
about pittsburgh
Not only do some of our streets travel parallel AND perpendicular to themselves, we have also managed to design elevations so intricate that the shortest distance between any two points will be up a hill.
there are three different intersections of monitor st. and beechwood blvd. THREE.
you find a road on a map that will cut the length of your trip in half. SURPRISE!!! THE ROAD TURNS INTO STAIRS AFTER ONE BLOCK!!!
And let’s not even get started on the fact that our sidewalks are so bad that they may as well BE stairs half the time…
Is Pittsburgh the East Coast San Francisco or something?!
We are a city built on three rivers and a lot of hills, valleys, and other terrain, We have the most bridges of any city in the world, beating Venice by three. We have the steepest street in the United States, Canton Avenue, with a grade of over 35% in some places. Of note is that it is 630 feet long, to boot., We were founded twenty years before the Revolutionary war, and since then, we have only been sprawling. And falling apart. Pittsburgh aint the East Coast San francisco. San francisco has NOTHING on us.
It took my sister, me, and two friends 20 minutes to navigate our way out of the city and we have all lived in the suburbs of Pittsburgh for most or all of our lives. And even after we got out, we were still going the wrong way.
and all the bridges that everyone has to swap from the far left to the far right and vice versa really quickly
“is pittsburgh the east coast san francisco” i now understand pittsburgh
Penguins roll out.
Team work.
Heads up! The Pittsburgh Bald Eagle just caught a trout and brought it up to the nest! Quick!
If you want to watch a bald eagle eat a trout now is your chance.
Middle Hill. This was a tough one because of the snow squalls and bitter cold. Every so often when nothing seems to make sense I go back to a place where I’ve painted previously. This is what happened here. I like to revisit a place because the subject remains the same, but the painting experience creates a new piece. Days are different, seasons are different, I’m different. It is like seeing an old friend after a few years have passed. You notice the changes but it is still comforting.
Hi all, sorry it's been forever since I posted. Took a brief unannounced hiatus - but I had to come back to promote this fantastic blog. Ron Donoughe is a Pittsburgh plein-air painter and is doing a blog of one painting from each of the 90 neighborhoods that makeup our beautiful city. Check it aht.
Ok not necessarily Pittsburgh anymore, but former Penguins coach Michel Therrien getting trolled by a little kid is hilarious.

Pittsburgh has its first movie “world premiere” in Hollywood style, with the showing of “Allegheny Uprising” at Loew’s Penn. Claire Trevor, one of the stars of the film, was among the guests. [Historic Pittsburgh]
