Hey, i was wondering if it was possible to get a copy of that translation sheet of items and moves? The document that u linked 2 seems to be deleted from their google drive. I'm a friend of a streamer that's playing randomized viet crystal and wanted help with some translations.

Do you mean pidgezero_one’s translation sheet (should be tagged under “translation”)? I just looked at it and it’s working just fine for me. Maybe try looking at it in a different browser?

If you continue having issues I might try importing the sheet and just sending you the info.

No. :( It’s been broken for a while and I’ve tried to find a new link before but I haven’t had much luck finding one that’s not gonna give people malware.

Do you know of any other poorly-translated Pokemon bootlegs? Like just off the top of your head or something.

I know of a Pokemon Green hack that had some funny translations that someone submitted to the blog. I don’t recall if I tagged it with anything though.

Other than that? I do own a Pokemon Diamond bootleg ROM for the Gameboy Color many years ago. It is actually not a Pokemon game, but the battle system is similar. The translations could be funny at times, but it crashes a lot.

Volcano Bakemeat

Fancy bakemeat.

3 tablespoons olive oil

2 1/2 pounds beef short ribs Salt Freshly ground black pepper 1 medium onion, coarsely chopped 3 carrots, coarsely chopped 2 cloves garlic 1 (28-ounce) can diced tomatoes  1 (6-ounce) can tomato paste ½ teaspoon chopped fresh rosemary leaves ½ teaspoon dried thyme ½ teaspoon dried oregano 1 bay leaf 1(14 ounces) can beef broth 1 ½ cups red wine

Preheat oven to 300F.

Place the olive oil in a large Dutch oven over medium heat and heat about 4 minutes. Meanwhile, pat the short ribs dry with a paper towel, and season them with salt and pepper, Add the short ribs to the pan and brown on all sides, about 10 minutes total. Drain off all but 1 tablespoon of fat.

Meanwhile, combine the onion, carrot, parsley and garlic in a food processor and blend until finely minced. Then add the tomatoes and tomato paste and pulse. 

Once the short ribs are browned, carefully add the mixture from the food processor to the pot. Add the rosemary, thyme, oregano, bay leaf, beef broth, and wine. Bring the mixture to a boil.

Remove from heat, cover and bake in the oven for 2 ½ to 3 hours until the bones can be removed easily. Discard the bones and return the meat to the pot. Skim any excess fat off the top. If the sauce is too thick add water to the right consistency. Adjust the salt and pepper if needed.

Earlier today i reblogged the ask about Turkish Sapphire and added a link to download a similar translation of Emerald. However the link i gave wasn't correct. I don't have the right link to the download but if you look up doingboing100's playthrough of Bootleg Emerald, you can see the game. Also you can message him to ask for the download link and i think he will give it to you (that's how i got it).

have you heard of this one turkish-to-english (i think?) pokemon sapphire translation? it has slightly betteer grammar and whatnot than vietcrystal, but it's still hilarious~

Hi, I found a patch that transforms an English Crystal ROM into a Vietnamese Crystal ROM.

This is the link to the forum thread on which I found it.. The post quoted at the top of the third page contains a link to download the patch (right after the text "I've uploaded a copy that I made from LIPS"). I'm sorry to be so obtuse about it, but I'm afraid that hotlinking would crash the download or somesuch. Plus, the patch was created IN that forum thread, so this way everyone sees the source.

I hope this helps anyone interested in playing the ROM for themselves!

Hey, this game seems really cool, but I haven't actually been able to find a link to a ROM that wasn't dead or a virus (including the link on your about section, I'm afraid). Any idea how I could get my hands on one?

Unfortunately it's getting harder and harder to find on the Internet, probably due to copyright stuff. This was the last download I could find that still worked.

A couple months ago, I found a bootleg of Emerald that's very reminiscent of Vietnamese Crystal. Have you heard of it? (On a side note, I plan on making volcano bakemeat sometime soonish; I can submit the recipe if it turns out good.)

No I can't say I have heard of it. :(
