A headcanon i really enjoy about ghostary is,

When they were younger, around middle school age, wren would typically follow zane around, but zane had been doing that exact thing too. The boys had been so invested in impressing the other that they ended up being who they are today.

That’s why whatever happened between them was so rough for zane.

He still feels like he needs wren’s validation, but little does he know, wren feels the exact same way. That’s why he’s perfected his craft, recording not just for work, but also for what they’d created. that’s why zane’s let him back in so easily. It was theirs, born out of creative minds bonding to forge something special that, truly, only they could get.
