Like Stray-Dogs

Ooof—! Her mind seemed to yell out, but only a low sound resembling a gulp rumbled in the back of her throat as she was pushed into her childhood friend. She tried to turn on her offender, but to no avail, she only succeeded in tripping over her own feet. Falling to the ground with a crash, Rukia made no sound as a troubled frown marred her features. There was no one there. Whoever had pushed her ran away. She hated knowing that they escaped without feeling her wrath. She was not a weak little girl!

After a few moments of laying, nearly dumbfounded on the dirt streets of Rukongai, she turned her head to her red-headed childhood friend and narrowed her eyes. He was none the wiser. Rukia pulled herself to her knees and attempted to stand, but winced ans groaned low when a shock of sheer pain traveled up the length of her ankle. 

Dammit, she growled inwardly as she squeeze her eyes shut and clenched her teeth. Please don’t tell me it’s broken, I need to help my idiot of a friend get us food and water tonight!

Renji blinked when seeing Rukia get pushed into him by some strange man. "Hey!" He yelled out at the man, getting ready to run after him before looking back to Rukia. It didn't seem like she was able to get up. "Hey, you okay!?" He asked her, almost sounding like he was yelling at her. He would've chased after the man, but he couldn't just leave his friend behind. "Can you stand up?" Bad thoughts began to flow through his mind. Did she break her leg, or her ankle? If so, the guy that'd did this to her was going to get a beating later.
