The doorbell rings, followed by a thud, a muffled "ow!", and quick footsteps scrambling away. Weird. But now there's a dark blue package addressed to "Dark P." on the doorstep. The attached card says "Happy Holidays, Dark! I wasn't sure what you might like, so I tried to guess; I hope these are useful (and fun!) from up high. Tell me what you see, next time!" Tucked inside are a pair of black binoculars, with a leather rope for wearing. They have a few settings of vision and distance to try out.
'Dark,' huh? An interesting choice in nickname. He removes the âŠÂ things from their box and holds them up to his face curiously, fiddling with the dials and peering through the lenses before he finally understands their purpose. Itâs sort of like the zooming function of a scope, but without all the point-and-shooty parts -- less fun, sure, but still pretty practical.
"Huh. Guess these are pretty usefulâŠ"
