Guess who recently learned to juggle? Hint: He’s a prophet.

Apollon is happily juggling a pair of oranges as he walks down the street, looking perfectly pleased with himself all the while. Apparently his abundance of spare time has led to him picking up a strange new hobby.

"Hey, don't drop any of those oranges!" called out the faunus boy as he dangled from a lamppost and held his own fruit in hand. Granted, he wasn't juggling bananas. How would one even get away with that, let alone do it?

Real attractive. At first, Takeru was annoyed, but after a few moments more, his frown softened slightly. All right, he could find it in him to be at least a little sympathetic here.

"…fine. This way, then."

A sigh, and he turned to march back in roughly the direction he had come, assuming the hiccup-ridden stranger would follow. He paused after a few steps to shoot a glance over his shoulder, just in case.

"Don’t drag your feet, either. It’s a longer walk than it looks."

Lucky him, finding someone who was willing to give him the time of day. Maybe having a name like Sun helped with that process-- yeah, no, bad pun.

Sun hurried after his new walking companion and pouted when Takeru scolded him. He hadn't even done anything wrong yet! and already he was getting lectured about how to go about things. Rude. Since when was he back in school? "Yeah, yeah-- snrrrkk... sorry, sorry, can't stop the-- hee hee... laughing." That was going to get old really fast.

"Sometimes. More annoying than anything."

"Kick him in the shin. That'll teach him to mess with you."

"Oh, chowder…? I would imagine that’s down by the waterfront…" He noticed the subtle glance, taking it for a pretty good educated guess. "Why don’t we walk that way?"

Atlus went along the sidewalk, looking around them at the surrounding buildings, then back at Sun himself. “So, ah… where are you from? Everyone who comes here is from somewhere different, usually. Often very different.”

So he wasn't the only one new to town? Good to know. Helpful. Reassuring, even.

Sun let out a heavy sigh (of relief?) "I'm from Vacuo, but I moved to Mistral. School and stuff. You know how it goes-- wait. You mean like... the world itself? Uhh. I'm from Remnant. Yeah."

'Grungy?' What a gross-sounding word.

"Badass is one thing, but I’m definitely not a clothing store." He decided to fold his arms rather than allowing them to hang limply, his expression growing a little more concerned. This was… Unusual, to say the least.

"… So, are you going to attack me or something?" Now that would be something he actually expected.

It was a pretty gross sounding word. Which made it fun to say. Like, twelve year old potty humor, hah hah.

"Wait, what?"

Sun stared at him funny. Well, that certainly came out of nowhere. Taken aback by the suggestion, he sort of just stood there a moment and wondered if the problem wasn't with his hearing more so than Dark Pit's social ineptitude. "You haven't done anything to me, though. And even if you had, I'd try to talk you out of it first. Like a normal person?" And by 'normal', he actually meant 'well-adjusted'.

"Sheesh, the people around here are so rude. Everyone's got their head up their butts."

"Ghh." Yeah okay, that did sound pretty nasty. Let’s try not to sound like a monster here.

"…luckily, I’m not talking about the same kind of dragon. Just a guy I know who liked to call himself one. Fancies his swords for claws, and all that."

"That makes way more sense. Guy sounds like an asshole, too."

Meanwhile, Takeru had just been on his way to find one of the flowers in question. He was pretty good at ignoring most of the people along the way, but… hard to miss a guy who couldn’t stop laughing, and… hiccuping?

One glance and it wasn’t hard to tell he was miserable. Funny thing, though, Takeru hadn’t bothered to take note of the side effects of these flowers, otherwise he might have steered clear, because the signs would have clicked.

Instead, he shot a glance toward the tower in question, then to the guy walking nearby.

"All the main streets seem to connect to the damn thing." Like he’d actually been there himself, he was just going on hearsay. "Don’t tell me you’re that lost.”

Something akin to a burp made it out of his mouth, only to croak like a wheezing hiccup. Sun let out a sad little whine before more involuntary laughter took its place. Abject tears glistened in his eyes as his symptoms continued to persist. He should have known better than to blindly attempt whatever trials were issued in this strange dream-like world.

His teary eyes drifted towards the snappy gent who answered him. Nice hair. Sun would've introduced himself and engaged in small talk if not for his pollen-induced agony.

"Hard to think -hic!- straight when I can barely -hic!- breathe properly...!" Sniffle-laughter occupied whatever silence he wanted to welcome.

"Weirder gear than…" Just what kind of stuff was he used to, then? "Nah, nothing like that. Snapping would probably do the trick… you know, whatever works in the heat of the moment."

"Sounds horrific. I mean, that's the equivalent of getting one of your nails-- ergh, I'm not gonna even think about it."

[kagemoguri]

"Easy. Take away his claws."

[sunuaf]

"Like, do you snap them off, or are you talking about giant nail clippers? 'cause the latter sounds unwieldy, but I've seen weirder gear, I guess."

"Yep. And they’re a real pain in the neck, too."

"How exactly do you fight a dragon?"

[kagemoguri]

"Coulda told you that long before I got here." Yep. Still taking shots at Dragon Breath.

"And why's that? Are there dragons in your world?"

"Not yet, but I’m sure we can find one. I have some money with me, so it should be enough for a snack… o-or if you haven’t had dinner yet, that’s fine too. I don’t mind either way." He smiled warmly. Cheering somebody up while looking at all unsure wouldn’t do.

Atlus rummaged through his pockets for his wallet.

"Ah… oops… oh! There it is." Third pocket’s the charm. He took out some cash and surveyed their surroundings. "Hmm… what kind of food are you in the mood for?"

Anything substantial would suffice. Sun would have turned his nose at a salad, but the stranger was giving him the option to choose, so... 

"Maybe soup? Not the watery stuff, either. The hearty kind! Know a place that serves chowder?" His eyes flickered towards the direction of the waterfront.

[kagemoguri]

"Heh. Wouldn’t worry too much about the little guys. Manami here’s been trying to get me into a fight, but she won’t jump in without my say so. Something tells me they can’t do much without our help.”

[sunuaf]

"Dragons are weird." That was all he had to say on the matter.

[kagemoguri]

"Varies. Jing Li supposedly executes trespassers on the spot in the Enclave. The other two… aren’t quite so strict. But if you decide to wander, I’d say stay alert, just in case. I may not care much for this whole war thing, but you never know who has bought into it.”

"Great. So we've got one homicidal dragon and another two who don't care if we tear each other to pieces. You're not like them, are you, Seng?"

"Convenience, as far as I can tell. We happened to be showing up here, so they took advantage. But anyway, the central city here is where you’ll see most of the fighting."

"…if you ask me, though, none of them deserve to win if they have to resort to this nonsense."

"... does it get violent if you try to bum around another faction's turf? 'cause people don't really like me by default, so-- not really picking up on any extra animosity."

"Did you totally miss the memo—"

"That’s the whole point of the ‘factions’. Those dragon guys want us to fight their battle."

"Okay, sure, but where's the battle taking place? And why us? Can't dragons do their own dirty work? They're dragons! You lost me like five blocks ago."
